Great app overall and it has made it very easy to schedule lawn mowing for my rental property. I think the service could be a perfect 5 stars if they were more proactive in alerting the user of the grass needing more frequent mows (for those of us on a regular scheduled lawn service) rather than waiting until the contractor requests a higher one time fee (through the app) when they arrive to do the job. I’d recommend the contractor alert Plowz and Mowz so we can be told that they recommend that we increase the mowing frequency to avoid a possible over grown charge on the next scheduled mow. I’ve been asked 2 times to pay an additional fee for an overgrown lawn when my scheduled was every 2 week and then again when I moved it to every 10 days. I am at every 7 days now (Central Florida, w/ lots of rain) and haven’t had the request since but I rather know it may be too long next time than be asked to pay an additional $15 or so before the contractor begins mowing. To their credit I did not agree to the fees and another contractor (I believe) came and did the job at the agreed price. So I never had to pay the fee.Some great things, customer service is super fast and very easy (text within the app.) I love the auto email alerts and photo when the job is completed. I don’t have to worry about writing a check to a contractor and everything is auto billed. Prices are slightly on the high side for my area (about $5 so it is worth it for the extra convenience. 4.98 out of 5 but I 100% recommend :)

I have been using this service for years. Reliability and quality of work have gone down hill over the last couple of years and I am on the verge of canceling my recurring lawn service. The most recent issue, I ordered on 5/14 for service on 5/16, the order was accepted and assigned very quickly. It is the first now of the season so my grass is getting quite long. Dinner time rolls around on 5/16 and there is no sign of the landscaping company. I reach out via Chat to Customer Service for an ETA. After some time they come back and say that the provider is running behind and doesn’t know when they will get there so they are canceling and reassigning it. I ask how long that will take. All they say is ASAP. Two days later it still hasn’t even been assigned to a provider. I have reached out numerous times. Nobody has any answers. I am disabled and can’t mow the lawn myself. I am now receiving hostile notes in my mailbox about the length of my grass and today is the last clear day before several days of forecasted rain. Customer Service just tries to placate me with generic apologies and “we try to assign things as quickly as we can”. Nobody has escalated my order or offered me a discount for the no show of the unreliable provider they selected the first go around. I’d be willing to continue to pay for the service if it were simply reliable and they communicated proactively or showed some level of concern for basic customer service.

It is clear Plowz and Mowz attempts to use providers in your local area. If you are in North East Ohio, avoid this service. Any attempt I’ve made trying to use this service has left me with last minute cancellations, no shows on the day service is scheduled, and poor excuses. Bad weather is often used as an excuse. The last two times a “medical emergency” was cited after not showing up a day after the scheduled service. I’ve had other occasions where they simply have not shown up, so I cancel in the app. I suspect they do not limit where they will service, so they are highly beholden to local landscaping companies in your area. Clearly this does not work in my area given my personal experience. The couple of jobs that have been fulfilled were ok at best. I paid for overseeing with aeration. The over seeding was not done at all. In another circumstance I paid to have yard waste taken away. The landscaper simply blew the material into the woods behind my house. In both situations I left comments with my review of the job in the app. I never had a follow up from Plowz and Mowz. While Plowz and Mowz may not be able to control their fleet of landscaping partners, what they can control is their customer experience. Customer service is prompt responding, but I’ve never been offered accommodations or alternatives for no show situations or subpar delivery of services. I applaud Plowz and Mowz for a creative business model, but horribly executed based on my experience.

If the ball was dropped on numerous accounts, we need to fix that. Our goal isn't to make things more difficult or troublesome, it's to make sure things are as fluid and fulfilled from the point of order, through completion of job. I am deleting this app after this reviewing and opting for a local snow removal service. This winter I have used the app 3x. The first time the plow never arrived. I was texting customer service til midnight for a plow ordered for 2pm. I didn’t know if my kids could get to their bus stop in the morning. Customer service via text blamed the weather- literally the business they are in. It was only when I called that I was told they had lost communication with driver and had no ETA. She cancelled the order and put in a new one marking it as urgent, and a plow arrived within the hour. Something someone could have done hours before.The second snow removal was a random man with a snow blower, which is fine except he made path so narrow I could barely pull out.The third snow removal job (yesterday) the plow went half way down the driveway, into my lawn (tearing it up) for some reason and then left. When I asked for a refund for a job not completed (with photos included) I was told my driveway “looked longer” than was stated and so “probably the driver did just the 7 car amount. Hope that helps!” No follow up with the driver, no asking for actual driveway measurements, totallly ignored the fact that I have ordered a dozen or so jobs with this same information and never had problem. So blame the weather, then blame the customer is this company’s preferred method of problem solving.
