Spoiler alert: there’s a glitch… I play the special location levels for every holiday and I love the extra points and perks I win, but this time around seems impossible. In the North Pole location, there are 50 candy canes to start and each level takes 10 candy canes to enter. I noticed that I had only played two levels before the “you need candy cane to keep playing” popped up. Now I knew I wasn’t tripping because the event had just started and I’d only made it through the first two levels, so it’s not like I was finished and went back to play all over again. Where’d my other 30 candy canes go? And these candy canes take ten minutes PER CANDY CANE to refill! I’m not gonna spend kitchen cash to refill what I never used, not that I would use it to refill had I actually used them all, but whatever. The location comes around every year with the same equipment and recipes, so what’s new about it that would cause this sort of glitch? Fix it, please. P.S. while I have you, Snowy Feastville is great! However, level 17 is impossible to pass due to there never being enough turkey sliders being ordered. I’ve been there for more than a week because it’s the type of level where you only have a set amount of customers, but with a challenge of 5 turkey sliders served. I still have 8 levels left to make it to the end and 14 days left to play, but I’m seriously losing interest in finishing the location.

The UI changes just made are... bad. I don’t know why they were made because they neither improve appearance nor playability. The biggest sin is that the new way to look at recipes as a reminder during levels is god-awful. Instead of a recipe book accessed at your leisure via the pause function while playing a level, recipes are now displayed in a TINY bar (on my large screen iPhone) at the top of the screen. They are nearly impossible to read, and you waste valuable time squinting at them during play, or valuable eyesight squinting at them around the greyed-out edges of the new pause screen. Moreover, if a customer wants two dishes, get ready to guess at how the second one is made, because sometimes only the first dish will fit into that tiny bar at the top! And there is no pause screen recipe book in which to look it up so you are SOL. Your best bet is to try to remember to scrutinize the menu before each level and laboriously play practice mode for each new dish.... but unfortunately that means you’re still squinting at a tiny, illegible recipe bar at the top to figure out the recipe. That’s your only option now. Did anyone bother to play test this? Honestly, I get the feeling this game is under resourced by the developer and maintained only by some poor overworked souls there, but I have to be brutally honest and say that this is the thing that will probably make me stop playing. Impossible levels, too many ads, glitchy sound, instability... I was willing to let those slide. The recipe thing makes the game almost unplayable.

This review says more about need than the game. I have been playing this for two or three years now. The game is fun but it's terrible. The supplies take too long to refresh, the game is obviously fixed on several levels et I will pay money for the ridiculously expensive cash. As FD at as the fixing, there are levels that require certain dishes to be served. Say you need to serve 4 shrimp. You play the whole level but no one will request the shrimp. So now you've wasted super expensive supplies. Also, the game requires you to make so much on each level. Yet the dish prices are fixed and you can't make that amount without buying cash to purchase select premium ingredients. Even if you do the next time you play the level. o one I'll request the dish with that ingredient. Now let's talk about crashing. The game crashes CONSTANTLY. and not just any crash. It crashes after you hit play on a level. This means you have lost supplies and any premium ingredient you paid for for that level. I've been refunded so many times it's dumb. Yet I still play. The watch and earn is a joke. There are never videos available. It works maybe once a month. Just greedy creators. I've decided. Yet I still play. Update: I finally uninstalled and found several similar games that are more stable and don't require so much cash to pass levels. Still love the game but I felt more like I was being conned than enjoying the two hours of rest I get a day.

I just updated a few minutes ago, and my sound was fixed which is nice! I don’t know if the facebook login was fixed because I hadn’t checked yet, but I went into a level and then during it I realized that none of the inside buttons/info were around. Luckily, I’ve been playing this for years and years and I remembered how to make what I needed to serve 6 of lol but the counter that lets me know how many of that food I’ve served wasn’t there, and none of the other things at the top were either. Also, the pause button was gone 😅 which is why I couldn’t check the recipe. I did totally fine with that, but during the next level, my iPad told me we only have 10% left and then I was totally stuck. When that happens in-game, the pause menu comes up, but this time it didn’t. I tried clicking around the area where the resume button is, but that didn’t work, although funnily enough I was able to click on the kitchen appliances I wanted to go to next, although that didn’t do anything because the game is still frozen as if the pause menu is open. I'll definitely try to remember to come back and fix this review once this stuff is fixed, because although it can be a headache sometimes and sometimes I’ve gotten impatient and used my own cash to get something (lol), I’ve spent a good four or five years coming back to this game and up until this year, I never spent money on it. It’s challenging, fun, diverse, and the graphics are really good. I love the set up of the kitchen-to-patron, and the inbetween storyline parts are good too.
