Track Your Baby’s Movements with Confidence
The Count the Kicks app is a free, research-based tool designed to help expectant parents monitor their baby’s health in the third trimester. With daily tracking of your baby’s movement patterns and strength, you’ll gather valuable data to share with your provider.
The app also includes built-in guidance and in-app messaging to help you recognize changes and feel empowered to speak up if something feels off. A change in fetal movement can be one of the earliest—and sometimes only—signs that a baby may be in distress. Monitoring movement is an easy, proven way to strengthen your connection with your baby, and 78% of users say it reduces their anxiety during pregnancy.
Exciting Features Include:

OCR Scanning
Prefer paper charts? No problem. Use our optical character recognition (OCR) tool to scan and upload your kick data directly into the app—no manual entry required.

Fastest baby kick counter I could find, and it was created by an nonprofit

Fastest baby kick counter I could find, and it was created by an nonprofit. The Baby Center app is a good app in general, and has a kick counter too. But it’s not very accessible at this kick counter and I found it harder to track the kicks on the fly with the Baby Center app.The one is fast because it automatically opens to the kick counter every time. The only annoying thing about it is the little pop up messages they have every single time you finish logging your kicks sessions. I would suggest they only pop up every other, or every few kick sessions instead. Otherwise good app & counter, with lots of helpful info from a good & trusted organization. Thanks

NO ADS! Functional but occasionally frustrating
P3PP3R Pyrope
I had a whole review typed here but the App Store deleted it as I was finishing it up and I have to re-type it (app store get it together lol) but essentially this app does its job and without ads. It has these pop-ups occasionally that are a little annoying to have to close out especially as I’m using it for the second time with my second pregnancy and I truly don’t need the facts it’s trying to show me. I wish there was an option to turn off the hints or facts as they are truly unnecessary. Also, the dark-mode is unusable as if you try to type out text in it, the text isn’t adjusted and is still dark and doesn’t show up at all over the dark mode. So there’s essentially no point in using the dark mode. Also the size of the font is really small for the contraction timer, and it can be kinda confusing or hard to read. But I must say the fact that this app has no ads makes me prefer it over the most popular and most reviewed “contraction timer” app, as that app literally has a whole ad take over your whole screen every 4 marked contractions and it deletes the intensity level of the last contraction marked. Not to mention that app already runs ads at the bottom of the screen that I sometimes accidentally click bc they deliberately design the app to have the contraction button right above it. I feel far too annoyed and enraged at the other app and the audacity of who runs it knowing so many people use it and get no barfed by ads so I prefer this one!

Too glitchy to rely on

I wanted to like this app - especially given all the positive ratings- but the first two out of three sessions I had were a complete waste. Day 1, I started counting, finished the session, then it prompted me to create an account or continue on as a guest. I of course created an account, as I intended to use this for the next 3 months. Unfortunately, once I did that, all my session data was lost and was not synced to the new account I created. I was bummed but planned to do Day 2 with my new account. All was well. On to Day 3 (today), things were going well. However, when I went to record a kick, I opened back up my phone (bc if no activity, the screen goes black - which was fine before - you just reopen it and continue your counts…although it would be ideal for the app to stay open and active when you were in an active kick count session), and this time the app had just restarted itself and was back to the main screen asking me to count my kicks! When I went into session history, I saw my incomplete session with 3 missing kicks and the time it took to get to 7. Why did it choose that time to just shut down and restart? So once again, I was left with incomplete data. I’m deleting this app and finding a new one - this info is way too important to keep taking chances on whether my info will save one day to the next!

First, the Apple Watch app does not work at all. I downloaded this app specifically because it said it was Apple Watch compatible and it doesn’t work. I don’t have my phone on me most the day so I missed tons of sessions because I can’t log them.I’ve had this app for about a week and every single day the little tip or fact that pops up is solely about still birth and fetal demise. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and I don’t need to see this and not just every day, but every time I log a kick session it’s the same pop up for 24 hours about still birth or how often still birth happens or “meet our ambassadors and their stories” and every single one I read is about them suffering a still birth. Like Jesus can this stop?! Can we get anything else for these pops ups except all of our biggest fears? And there is no way to turn this off. You have to see it every time you finalize a kick session. Maybe I’m unlucky and getting them non stop but I’m about to delete this app if I get one more.
