Use this app to ensure adequate vitamin K intake for healthy bones (to prevent osteoporosis), blood clotting (to prevent haemorrhage), and to help prevent infections and inflammatory & autoimmune disorders. The app can also be used to maintain a consistent intake of vitamin K as advised by your healthcare provider if you’re on an anticoagulant such as warfarin (Coumadin®) that acts by lowering the activity of vitamin K to avoid fluctuations in warfarin activity, which can lead to bleeding (too much activity) or thrombosis (too little activity).
Set your target daily vitamin K intake based on guidance provided in the app and your preferences for weights of food (g or oz).
Record food and beverage consumption using dictation, search, or by favoriting foods, and using the serving sizes provided, which can be changed at any time. Use the notepad to add notes if desired. Compare the vitamin K content of different foods by tapping the Compare button on the "Foods" screen.
Monitor daily and long-term progress, export data to share with healthcare providers, synchronize data with other First Line Medical Communications Ltd nutrient counter apps, and share data with Apple's HealthKit.
Add your own foods and recipes and change serving sizes to personalize the app's 400-item database for you.
All food and beverage popups indicate whether the item is a plant, good prebiotic, probiotic or ultra-processed food (UPF) to inform a healthy diet and whether they are high or low FODMAP per serving where data are available to support people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Useful lists show vitamin K content of foods per 1oz or 100g and serving, which can be toggled from high to low & low to high. Also useful UPF, unprocessed plant, prebiotic, probiotic, high & low FODMAP food lists.
This app has a solid foundation but leaves a lot to be desired functionally. Would love to see it become more user friendly and include more options without having to deconstruct every food I eat.
Developer Response
Over 70 new items have been added to the app's database, so there are now over 400 items color-coded for plants, prebiotics, probiotics, and ultra-processed foods to support a healthy gut microbiome diet. This update (2.11.6) should be available within 24h and as with all updates for the app, is free.
How dare you
Mad at terrible app
The only thing right about this was the idea. It’s a total mess
Developer Response
The app is and has to be a highly sophisticated piece of software to provide the accuracy required and requires attention to detail to optimise its use. We provide 17 "How to use the app" instructions to guide users so they don't get into a mess.
Does not work
June Houston
Do not purchase this app. This app is not even capable of tracking different types of lettuce.
Developer Response
The app has been redesigned using new Apple technologies. The foods and amounts you eat can be recorded easily and quickly using speech recognition (touch the microphone icon), or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided. Your progress towards your target daily vitamin K intake will be visible immediately in real-time. You can also view your progress over time on the Month view dashboard, and export food diaries and vitamin K intake into a spreadsheet for your own information or to share with healthcare providers. Apple's HealthKit functionality is integrated in the app's user interface so you can share data with Apple's Health app. You can also synchronize the app with all your Apple devices and First Line Medical Communications Ltd apps. The serving sizes are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central, but can be changed at any time via the "Add food" tab to your choice of measurement eg g, oz, cups, pieces. The app is preloaded with 325+ common (mainly healthy) foods (including five types of lettuce) and drinks and you can add your own branded and other foods and recipes at any time. This means the app does not require access to the Internet or registration, does not collect your data or require additional payments, and there is no advertising.
A new "Compare" button (accessed through the "Foods" screen) allows you to compare the vitamin K content of different foods. Small changes to design and the "Help" and "Contents" files to improve usability.
