Unable to pair new devices* IT WORKS NOW SEE BELOW

Edit/revision My below review, while true at the time is no longer. My thread/matter plugs would not add to HomeKit no matter what I did UNTIL I installed an EVE light switch and updated the switch’s firmware which prompted the EVE app to ask for permission to use Bluetooth. At least for 6.2, part of the handshake between the EVE accessories and the IOS ecosystem was the need for the Eve app to have access to Bluetooth on the device. Without that access the “Add a new device” failed every time. If you’re having trouble adding a new Eve device check within the your Bluetooth privacy setting to see if Eve has access. Setting>Privacy & Security>Bluetooth. Eve if you read this review can you please prompt Eve app downloaders to give the Eve app access to Bluetooth upon initial download so that people don’t have to go through what I did. Old review: Up until the update yesterday I was able to add new devices through the Eve app but it seems that 6.2 “fixed” whatever loophole that was allowing me to pair new devices through the Eve app. The Eve app was my workaround for being unable to pair new devices through the home app but alas that is no more.

Issues with thread network

When I updated to 15.4 and then to 15.4.1 over the weekend, I lost my access to my outdoor eve weather stations. I’ve tried everything I can think of, but nothing will allow it to reconnect. I’ve tried restarting all of my HomePods, AppleTVs and our internet router. I’ve also tried to remove and re-add; however, it will not connect. I checked the thread network on the app and it just spins and spins and shows nothing. Not sure if anyone else is having this issues. Otherwise I love my Eve’s that I have…Update: 4/9/22I don’t think this was an Eve issue, I believe this was an Apple update issue. I had to complete sign out and remove everything in my HomeApp and re-add everything. Nothing was connecting or working correctly. Once I did that I was able to re-add my Eve products and they are working now.

Eve Outdoor Camera works great

The Eve outdoor camera is a good product. Fairly easy to install physically, and easy to setup and get working with the Eve App or HomeKit App. It streams to your iCloud account and you can view old video streams there for motion events so no monthly streaming fees from this vendor, but you do need to pay for iCloud. The flood light is very bright and this camera has good night vision also. It only works on 2.4GHz WiFi, not 5GHz, but all routers support this. I have an existing set of 4 camera’s that also support HomeKit from another vendor and I’ll be replacing all of these with Eve indoor and outdoor cameras since the other camera’s have frequent down time and persistent login issues plus they no longer stream old motion events. Whats the purpose of a security camera if you can’t look at old video!

When I first started using home automations with Eve and Apple HomeKit this Eve app was extremely helpful. The Eve app offered a lot of flexibility that the HomeKit app alone did not offer but I guess all good things come to an end. With every update more and more of my automations I created in the Eve app are breaking. My home system has grown too big to delete everything every time and start over to fix automations problems. I need to find a better solution. I am really sad because I own 7 Eve devices and to have my automations break every time there is an update is taking all the fun out of using Eve products. With automation tiggers malfunctioning there is a serious danger of locking myself out of my own house because the Eve app did not check all the conditions before locking the door.
