I was so worried about my financial situation as I started my short term with Unum as I heard nothing but horror stories from other people who I had worked with before but all in all it’s been some what manageable and not to bad did it take a little while for them to get going yes but there’s a process I understand that there are lots of people and they wanna ensure that they’re paying out to the right people as a company there’s nothing wrong with them protecting money they spend as a business I think people are just impatient and expect everything they ask for now I do hope they continue to be helpful and stay on a good path with me so far thank you

just found out after 4+ months that many critical documents I uploaded, that are reflected as uploaded on the app, do not show on the website, which is apparently what customer service representatives see. this is absolutely absurd, and as others have pointed out, negligent. the rep helping me seemed to know nothing about this / had never heard reports of this before. it took me so long to finally figure out why it seemed I was doing the same things over and over again, and seems like I only discovered the reason due to circumstance. it's frustrating and difficult enough having to deal with so much paperwork when you or a loved one are going through a major life event, but for such a glaring discrepancy to exist, with no acknowledgements or efforts to address, is truly unconscionable. not sure where in the unum system this needs to be fixed, but it needs to be corrected immediately. please use extra caution if you are on this app - aside from this issue, it isn't user friendly in the least, making it very difficult to navigate and understand what tasks are required / due, or the true status of a claim. many times it simply could not function. unfortunately, but perhaps unsurprisingly, the website isn't much better.based on my experience I would suggest avoid using the app at all if you can. it's insane that I don’t know whether I can trust what it shows, especially with regard to such important and time-sensitive communications / documents. double check your work dealing with unum at all, upload and verify anything you've submitted via the website. wishing the best for all who have to muddle through this unreliable and confusing process.

I am fairly new to using the app and every time I have to go in to complete a task. It has been very simple. If I need to use UNUM in the future, I have confidence that I will be able to complete the task that is ahead of me, thank you for making this app so easy to use and I appreciate the support when I need it.

UNUM is either predatory or negligent. This company has me jumping through hoops trying to get a straight answer to anything. It’s impossible to talk to a real person, so you have to hope you don’t miss a call. No callback, the phone number robot tells you to go to the website, no contact form - no way to communicate. They don’t respond to emails. Their claim forms are poorly designed so inevitably you put something in wrong. It’s impossible to make any progress on a claim.My condolences to anyone trapped in working with them - I hope you can pay your bills without them during a medical leave, because you’re not getting the service you pay for.
