First time i write a review on App Store because i was amazed by the Duet support team.The app worked very well with my iPad 4, which is so obsolete right now it can’t run any other app smoothly. The iPhone screen is quite small to be used as 2nd monitor so i passed on that.So everything is fine as i expected, up until about recently i get stuck at “Launching Duet ...” screen. As a normal human being, i tried FAQs, Google to find answers but there is no working solution. So as a last resort i turned to support, got an automatic reply email and went to bed. The day after that, i found out that they replied literally 5 minutes after that with a few questions and a solution. That didn’t work right away but that just make me wished i asked them sooner. They kept providing me solutions after solutions, we exchanged emails for a week trying everything, they rotate 3 people in to help on my issue. The team is very polite, specifically pointed out every step along the way, never loose patient and always reply within the hour. After all it was a dumb mistake on my part, so everything is working normal again.I have to say i worked with many support teams about many issues including Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Steam, and dozens of app and game developers. This is hands down the best experienced i had working with any team. The app maybe not the best but the team is perfect, and they keep improving with each update.

As another reviewer pointed out, I was excited when I heard Sidecar would allow the use of an iPad as a second monitor. Unfortunately, I found out after installing Catalina that my iMac late 2012 edition was not compatible. I currently have dual monitors with my iMac and wanted a third smaller touchscreen for Photoshop and additional screen real estate. I already had the app installed on my computer and the iPad from when Duet first came out, but I wasn’t impressed with the graphics at that time for Photoshop use, so stopped using it. Recently, I decided to try Duet again and tried to connect my iPad to my iMac. It would not connect despite having updated software installed. I emailed support and could not believe how quickly I got a response! At first I thought it was a confirmation email regarding my support request but it was actually a thorough response on how to troubleshoot my problem. I went back-and-forth with support a number of times during the next couple of days troubleshooting the issue and they were extremely quick to respond each time! I am so impressed at the quality of their service! As it turned out, The problem was on my end. I am using Parallels to run a virtual Windows 10 machine on my iMac and the virtual machine was trying to connect to the iPad which prevented the iPad from connecting to the iMac. Once I fixed the settings on my virtual machine, Duet connected immediately. The graphics are amazing and the latency is nonexistent! My wife and I have iPad Pros. I am an IT director and my wife is a surgical services coordinator RN. She is also going to graduate school. I got the base version on a whim. I normally don’t buy apps that cost more than a couple of bucks, but I took a gamble. SOOO glad I did. My wife and I use this app all the time now. She used to have her reading or research work on the iPad sitting next to her while she worked on her laptop. She had to switch keyboards and input methods to interact with the iPad. Now, she can move her content between screens at will and use a full keyboard.I was a bit flummoxed at first by the pro and Air (wireless) features because I couldn’t see the “Pro” option and I wanted to try out those features. There was a bug in the version I was using that didn’t show the “pro” button on IOS. An email to duet support got around that and it is so cool now to be wired or wireless. The pen interaction is amazing given I am doing it as a second screen to my Mac. I use notability a lot and I love having pen interaction on my Mac as well as my IPad if needed. I just enabled the remote features and am trying those out as well while I am on the train during my commute. Not sure how valuable that is in my case, since I just use my iPads native apps on the train most of the time....but it comes as part of the Pro features. It’s definitely a good idea in case I left something open back on my Mac Pro and need to get to it...just not thinking I will use it as much as the other features.

I got this app hoping to use my iPad Pro as a second monitor for my PC computer. After installation it worked like a jiffy, and not only was it a second screen I could use the touch screen of the iPad to navigate in web browsers, pc file explorer, etc. I then encountered my first issue: when using the software Ableton Live 10 the touch feature stopped working. I reached out to the support team and asked them if they could help me resolve this issue because I knew from the introductory video on their website that the touch features of Ableton live should be working. They responded back in the matter of minutes (on a Sunday!). We went back and forth for a while and it became evident that I had somewhat of a unique problem so they decided to forward my info to the dev team for testing. About 2 days later they came back with a solution that worked (I was running Ableton live as an administrator - this function needed to be turned off). Duet Display is a fantastic app that allows me to use my iPad Pro like a pc, while also being able to switch to iPad apps fluently. I can use the Live 10 software in a whole new way. This team is here to stay. I am very impressed by my whole experience with this app/team. Definitely worth the $10 download price. Shout out to Sergio from Support!!
