BUY YOUR RAIL PASS OR MULTI-JOURNEY PASS
With the App 3.0 you can buy a 10 trips multi-journey pass and activate single tickets through Tap&Go. You only need to go to “my tickets” in the menu and tap on Carnet.
From now on, you can also buy your rail pass through the app, not only renew it. Select your trip, type of rail pass and add your card.

Trenord is so Bad, I took an early train from milano to Lugano and because I had class at 10 am and was supposed to get there at 9:03 I’ve been stuck in the train for 3 hours made me miss my first 2 classes in the morning.... Don’t take Trenord

It’s helpful & easier to obtain tickets using the app. Using the website is plodding and inconsistent.The app is seriously quirky & glitchy. It will refuse your credit card with no explanation.It’s best to create an account, before using the app to purchase tickets. It takes the company’s server time to recognize your account and send a confirmation email.The app will give / print your train ticket with no information on it. No train number, no departure time, no track number.Having the correct ticket seems to be inconsequential, we were informed by the ticket office that as long as you have a ticket going in your desired general direction, the conductor will validate your ticket on board.The more you use it, you learn to navigate it better.

We bought 1st class tickets on Trenord from Milano Centrale to Lugano. In Milano there are “assistants” that are supposed to help in the station. I asked four times how to know which car is first class and they either didn’t respond or said to “just get on the train”. Mostly they did so by yelling at us. Very unkind and they obvious really don’t care about customer service. Trenitalia was far superior. Staff more professional and your car and seat clearly marked. My advice, avoid Trenord if you are not experienced with the Italian train system.

I have always used the physical monthly card for my travels, but I was recommended to use the APP instead. Big MISTAKE!! I made to the train just in time before it left and I was trying to purchase a ticket and surprise!! It shows the itinerary, but by the time I got to the purchase ticket option the APP doesn’t work! I ended up paying the regular fare inside the train PLUS a surcharge of €4.20 for not purchasing the ticket in advance! ABSURD!
