I’ll give it 2-3 stars. The app itself is overall okay from what I got to see before I uninstalled it due to the obsessive amount of ads. I get you are able to purchase ad free as well but at least try not making it show an ad after every touch of your screen. (Too many ads) the app would also show pop ups about rating the app. It constantly got in the way and sometimes caused me to press the wrong things. (A lot of pop ups) I didn’t get the full experience of the app though sadly because of the amp of ads and not being able to pair via universal control for free. (Completely understandable!! Ya need to make money!) I would recommend at least try using the app before judging it off the bad reviews but I wouldn’t buy anything unless you’re positive that you can pair it with your lights for free first. Hi downloaded this app because it pops up when I typed in the name of a product I bought. But before you can even set the light bulb up the app tells you to purchase a subscription plan. At the time I still thought the app was legit so I purchased the $70/year plan. Right after the purchase went through I tried setting up the light bulb and it didn’t work at all I would just sit on the final set page. Within that same hour I contacted the app via email and told them not to finish the process of my payment because the app doesn’t actually operate the light bulb. I let them know I want the subscription cancelled. It has been almost a week and the subscription has now fully processed out of my bank account. I can’t even delete the app or account with them yet because I gotta make sure they refund me. I got one response via email the first night saying to provide screenshots and further explain the issue. Well I have and no response back so now I’m leaving a review this APP is garbage. Now refund my $70 and cancel my subscription.

I bought some Philips yard lights. Instructions said to get the LIFX app. I searched the App Store and this popped up. Had LIFX prominently displayed in thumbnail and I mistakenly got the app. When I tried to launch I got a message that I either needed to pay a monthly membership or a one-time “lifetime membership”. I was surprised at the fee but paid it thinking I needed it to use my new light system. When I tried connecting to the lights I found I was not able to. It was supposed to be a simple one-step connection but after fighting with the menus I began to wonder if I’d made a mistake. Went back to App Store and discovered this was not the right app. I finally got the correct app. It was free and it did connect very easily. I requested a refund on this app but Apple denied the request. Said it was not eligible. I appealed with explanation but they denied again. So, I’m out $60 on an app I can’t use. Not happy but figured telling my story might save someone else the headache and expense.

leaving a 1 star because all of the setups require a subscription was looking for an alternative for my remote that has broke and i ordered a new one in the mean time just needed something to control my lights (cant turn them off I.E light switch) it’s a smart light that can only be controlled through remotes or direct bluetooth connection, anyways off topic i tried to setup and was met with a prompt to pay for subscriptions? useless just pay for a remote that can control it don’t pay a monthly subscription for something you can buy and only pay one time they want 99hard earned dollars and in return you get access to the most basic use of this app and what many of us downloaded it for ONLY 1 part of the setup didn’t require a subscription it was for main companies mine is from IKEA which surprisingly isn’t even an option inside of the app
