Version 1.2.1
Photon Library 1.2 is here, bringing powerful new tools to help you manage your media with ease. Get a jump start on your digital spring cleaning with the new Cleanup feature, which helps you quickly clear out unwanted photos, videos, and screenshots. You can filter by media type, select a date range, and choose whether to include items from albums or exclude favorites. With options to delete files instantly or review and fine tune them manually first, reclaiming storage space has never been simpler.
We’ve also added the ability to pin your favorite albums, so your most-used collections are always at the top for easy access. No more scrolling through long lists to find your favorite album! With one long press your go-to albums will stay right where you need them. Additionally, you can now collapse and expand album categories for a cleaner, more organized browsing experience.
Finally, we’ve taken care of various bugs and made performance improvements to ensure smoother, faster operation. Whether you're tidying up your library or accessing your favorite memories, Photon Library 1.2 makes the process more efficient and enjoyable.

Don’t bother
This does not recreate the old Photos app for iPhone. I can’t see any difference. Apple really failed with the new, updated Photos app - and this doesn’t fix it. Don’t spend your money on this one.
Simplicity is a virtue
Nothing “wrong” with the Apple Photos app, but Photon Library pares things down for quick access, as when pulling up a photo to show someone during a conversation.
“Just Press Record” takes a similar approach for voice notes, and is my go-to app for that reason (I use other apps when more flexibility is needed). I anticipate using Proton Library the same way.
Hopefully, the developer won’t be inclined to add bells and whistles, but just make improvements and fixes when needed. If they want to make something more complex, offer it as a separate app.
iOS 18 added too much junk
No Apple, I don’t need a cluttered UI to access the most recent photos I’ve taken. I don’t need constant zooming in/out, and scrolling down to reveal all sorts of ways to view my photos library.
Sad to see this mess got released by Apple. Happy to see privacy focused, small (3mb) apps like Photon were able to fill the gap.
