Build even longer prehistoric timelines, with date support extended back to 1 million years BC, and improvements to year number displays. This update fixes a bug that affected users with certain calendar or region settings on their device; in those cases, Go to Date, Go to Today, and Inspector date pickers would display and choose incorrect dates.

A collection of great new features for styling and organizing your timelines! - Collapse any section or subsection to a thin bar, hiding its contents, then expand it again, with a few taps. - Set the opacity of weekend, date range, and other background colors, from 0 to 100%, so overlapping highlights and backgrounds remain visible (and look better!) - Apply new striped patterns to event bars and lines, to vary their look or mark them as tentative. - Bookmark any event so you can quickly scroll to it, no matter how big your timeline is. It also fixes a few bugs. Most importantly, vertical-only and horizontal-only drags didn’t work right if you kept the second finger on the screen after activating them; they now work as intended. This update fixes a couple of bugs related to typing in or choosing dates in Quick Entry, Go to Date, and other places. Most importantly, in some languages, when typing in a numeric date separated by “.” characters (e.g. 28.1.2025), the app would previously misinterpret the date and reject it with an “out of range” message. (This update comes very soon after 1.5, which first introduced iPhone support along with a batch of iPad-specific changes; check out those release notes if you missed them!)

Now available on iPhone! Use it as a companion app or entirely on its own. Every feature, from the timeline editor to the Inspector, was revisited to make sure it was usable on any size device. The iPad and iPhone versions are a single app; if you buy or subscribe on one platform, you unlock both. Existing iPad users will also find these new features: - Quick Entry is now available on iPhone and iPad. This allows you to type in (or paste) an event title and date range to add it to the timeline, and has long been part of TimeStory for Mac. - When viewing a timeline with left-side section headers, there’s now a button to shrink that header area and reveal more timeline content. - A simple User Guide is now built into the app, and a new integrated Welcome view, available from the document chooser, provides access to help and example documents, to get you started more quickly. This update fixes a bug in date inputs that appeared on iPads configured for certain specific languages and regions. This could affect dates in the Inspector and other places, in some cases leading to a hang or crash. It contains no other updates over 1.4, which was a large update filled with improvements and greatly-increased historical date support.

The app now supports both light and dark color schemes, and, for iPadOS 18 or newer, light and dark icons to match your Home Screen settings! Working on timelines of history or even prehistory? Version 1.1 brings full CSV import and export support! These features are based on and compatible with the Mac edition, and make it possible to interoperate with other apps or to edit your timeline data externally. V1.1 also adds support for configuring a timeline’s date format and language, for when you don’t want to use the iPad’s system setup. It also fixes a a few bugs. Notably, documents were not correctly remembering your horizontal scroll position when reopened, and edits to event and section titles could sometimes be applied to the wrong item.
