Apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to travel to Australia. An Australian Government mobile app that you can use to lodge an Australian ETA application. The ETA allows eligible passport holders to travel to Australia for short-term stays for tourism or business visitor purposes. It is recommended that you apply well ahead of when you want to travel. It is suggested that you do not make travel arrangements until your ETA has been granted. Easy App for ETA

Didn’t expect much from the reviews, but the app worked great! Took less than 5 minutes to scan my passports and pay. Visa was sent to my email minutes later. Only issue was reading the chip in passport- however, after 3 unsuccessful tries the app aborts the chip reading and has you look over your biographic info to proceed to payment. The last update must have patched most issues. I found it to be one of the least frustrating apps I’ve used!

App don’t work with newer passports

To the developers of this app: Many people will despair at the handling of this half-baked product.This app does not work on newer passports. Not even with a new cell phone. I think it is because of the reflective plastic surface where the biometric data is recorded in the passport. I (like many others as far as I could read) tried everything for 2 days: outdoors; with and without the light function integrated in the app; I even bent the new passport so that it lay flat, reinstalled the app over and over again, etc. - it still didn't work after about 20 attempts. Finally, I applied for the visa online (Visa 651) - it is the same visa as the 601, only certain countries are excluded. The list of countries excluded can be viewed on the immigration home affairs page. The 651 visa was granted to me just seconds after I submitted it.

I have an IPhone 11 and this app was super easy to use, only thing I had to redo was the Live Photo. As soon as I had decent lighting it worked! I was super stressed cause I left it a little last minute but I kid you not I had the approved application in my inbox literally within 5 minutes of sending it!
