Bosch Remote Security Control‪+‬ 4+

The app is clearly outdated with major issues that need to be urgently addressed. It takes over 45 seconds for the app to connect (why does it need to authenticate each time you open the app - and ask you for the alarm pin when most phones have far better security such as TouchID/FaceID before you even open the app?) and let you arm/disarm which is way too long and defeats the convenience of it. The communication between the app and the module is horrifically slow - it takes a further 20s to show the status of the alarm (armed/disarmed) from when you send the command. The app is very limited in what it can do, no ability to change settings on the alarm, so useful things like schedules, perhaps even auto disarm when a recognised phone connects to the wifi network. There are lots of possibilities the developers could implement instead they’ve used very basic app standards/functionality from 10-15 years ago and left it there.

I tried to use my rev+ app and I put in the password. It’s usually so slow and this time even slower!
Then it came up with the message ‘invalid credentials’ . It kept locking me out! Now I’m locked for 8000 something seconds!

Then I tried to reset the password. It wouldn’t let me do that. I have checked my junk box.. there are no email(s) with links to reset!!! I tried this a few times!

Called the guy who installed it. He said create account again. Tried that.. but says that they already have my email.. then why aren’t I receiving an email to reset!!!

Then called the guy who installed again and he tells me to register with a new email!! But it shouldn’t be that way as clearly it’s a fault and I don’t just want a short term fix. So it happens again do I then need a 3rd email account!! That is not right.. !!!

Then I try to find a number to call Bosch support Australia .. of course everything is now via email.. very poor support and customer service for a company that used to be known for its support! Not like my previous experience with Bosch!

I have “upgraded” from a Bosch alarm that called me in an event to the Bosch 3000 so that I don’t need to keep a phone line for the alarm to notify me when it is triggered. Unfortunately this app does not allow to adjust the volume or type of notification signal that is pushed to my iPhone. Nowhere did it mention this (here on the app description or in the Bosch 3000 info brochure). You need to be in a really quiet environment in order to actually hear the notification sound.... Bosch said that’d consider this in their upcoming update - that’s now almost 2 months ago. Also arming and disarming the alarm on the app takes FOREVER!
$1000 for an “upgrade” basically thrown out of the window and I still need to keep my phone line. Not happy :(
