Brother iPrint&Scan 4+

So my HL-2135W worked fine until I upgraded my router,
The nighthawk router connects to the printer ok, and so does my TP-Link, only thing is that the app “on the same 2.4gh” will not find the printer anymore, not even in manual mode, I tried other routers and the app still does not locate it,
This has been an issue for the past year an a half, and no matter what, the app does not work,
Very frustrating since it works fine and I have plenty of spare toners to use for it, only way currently is to plug it to my computer in order to print, making the wireless printing options obsolete, please find a way to resolve this issue.

It’s uncomplicated and easy to use. I expect it is accessible to folks who are inexperienced with technology or only require basic printing of documents etc. However, overall the app is extremely limited. The printing options are inadequate, as a number of standard printing functions are absent. You cannot adjust the print size or the page layout. You cannot collate photos or documents onto a single page. Double sided printing cannot be flipped on the short edge. You cannot insert info about the papers GSM. These options (and more) are standard on a computer or any quality application. Instead, the app provides the ability to crop and rotate the content itself. A superfluous element as you can easily (and more effectively) achieve in the photos app. Considering a lack of anything useful in this app, it’s laughable that they even bothered including it.

The point is, aside from the scanning function… you may as well use the built in Apple printing function. I’ll also add that there are several apps that allow you to quickly scan with your devices camera (adobe scan for example) on the go with superior editing capabilities. Of course I still use my Brother scanner when working on a computer / scanning to a USB. But considering the other options, the app is redundant. I considered giving it 2 stars as it is fit for basic use. But ultimately I expect more from an app solely dedicated to printing.

I’ve only used this app due to my employer supplying an off site brother printer. You can’t take an a3 document from a cloud service and print in A3? Sure you can change the settings to A3 however once you’ve changed the page size in settings you constantly get a message that the app is unable to retrieve the document from the sever.. funny thing is.. it doesn’t have a problem with the server if you don’t change from A4 to A3?, Compare brother apps to other printer apps and you’ll see the lack of features.. another example is the same brother app on a Windows PC. You can’t change the “save to” destination folder? Stupid. Wouldn’t bother with Brother printers or with this app if I didn’t need to use it for work purposes and even then.. only very restrictive minimal use. Best off printing elsewhere if I remember to.
