Budget Direct Rewards 4+

As mentioned in a review before, it’s a great idea but Budget Direct has clearly cheaped out on the design. Firstly the discoverability of the cinema discount is really poor, even if it is the first thing on the home page. It took me a while to actually see it. The different design components and spacing isn’t great either. Really weird design for the cinema discount page too? Seems weird that I have to choose the cinema first but then also asks me about my location and how many kms from my location. Would recommend you to actually do some user testing and get some proper designers in

Paid for ‘cheap’ movie tickets. I selected my cinema, movie, seat and time. When I read my confirmation email I found it odd it specifically said ‘this does not secure you a seat in this session’.

When I arrived at the cinema I opened my ‘tickets’ to find they are just eVouchers for movie tickets. Nothing to do with the movie or time I selected. I tried to use the vouchers at the automated booking machine and an error popped up saying the voucher could not be redeemed and to speak with staff.

After waiting in a long line (missing the movie start time) the voucher did not even work for the staff and I had to pay full price for my tickets. The most amazing thing I found was that after all of this hassle, the full price tickets were 50 cents more than the discounted price.

Do not use this app if you are trying to save money on movie tickets, it is not worth the hassle.

Absolute utter culmination of incompetence!!!!

First they make you use the ridiculous app instead of also being able to use the computer, so I have to use this stupid cramped small screen and keyboard instead of my comfy full sized computer.

Second the UI just looks like a web page! It’s not even optimised for mobile! The text goes off the edge of the screen for Pete’s sake!

Third to top it all off, after wasting all my time setting it up, logging in, entering all my details, the stupid transaction does even work!!!!! Wouldn’t be surprised if the payment details weren’t even secured properly at this point. This app is so bad it hurts to think about how this was even approved.

I can’t even fathom how such an incompetent jumble of bad decisions managed to come together and end up being published! I give it a -10,000 out of 10.
