Description
Find compass directions, see your latitude, longitude and elevation, all with Compass from Apple.
Features
• See the latitude and longitude of your current location.
• Check your elevation above sea level on iPhone 6 (or later) models.
• Tap the screen to lock in the current heading, then watch for a red band to see if you’re on course.
Compass for Apple Watch:
• Rotate the Digital Crown to switch between hybrid, analogue and orienteering views
• Add a Compass Waypoint to mark a point of interest like your campsite, tent or scenic lookout. Compass Waypoints you have saved can also be set as complications on your Watch face.
• Edit Compass Waypoints, set a bearing and see your compass heading, incline and elevation directly on Apple Watch
• Activate Backtrack when you are out on a walk, hike or bicycle ride to create a digital route back to your place of origin. Tap the Backtrack button to start recording your route and tap it again when you are ready to retrace your steps.

Needs more features
Great app.. a little too simple and boring. Can I request the option to input a known location, even to lock in a place like my house.. then at a different location have Compass with an orange needle point in the direction? Indicating altitude difference, distance and direction? I type in Rome, or Las Vegas and an orange arrow tells me where it is by direction, distance etc. Same for a restaurant as an extra, maybe or a sports stadium, airport, train station etc. I’ve always wanted to request this feature . Thanks.
Doesn’t use industry CRS representation
It only lets you use degree/minute/second. Which is great if you’ve got time to run the formula conversions, or are finding your location on a tall ship with a sextant. But decimal degrees would help average people communicate with their breakdown repair/rescue people far easier, who can then put them straight into an online map application like Google or iMaps.
Watch app???
Needs more features, like adding a tag of where you’re wanting to go. But also a watch version of the app. I can’t believe Apple has not integrated this app into the Watch.
