DentalMonitoring is designed to help dental professionals monitor the evolution of their patients’ orthodontic treatments remotely, between in-practice appointments. It can only be used under the supervision of a clinician, who provides patients with their personal login information.
The DentalMonitoring app is intended to be used with the patented DM ScanBox and DM Cheek Retractor, to maximize the quality of each intraoral picture taken with patients’ smartphones.
If you’re a patient, the app provides:
• Ease of use: No technical expertise is needed to use DentalMonitoring. An in-app tutorial is available explaining how to take good intra-oral pictures.
• Convenience: With regular screening of the orthodontic treatment evolution, from the comfort of home.
• Control: Regular monitoring can help prevent potential treatment complications.
• Communication: Patients receive specific notifications and advice from their practitioner via the app, and can send messages, too.
• Motivation: Patients see their treatment progress with a before/after comparison, and stay motivated throughout their treatment with achievement statistics.
If you’re a dental professional, the app provides:

So simple to use and reliable. Was sailing in the Mediterranean for 2 weeks so WiFi and phone service was poor. Took 13.5 hours to upload my pictures, but it didn’t fail or complain about how long it was taking. So I was still able to get info to my Orthodontist as the APP kept retrying to send the pictures I had taken until it was compete. I never had to retake these, which was a relief. I was expecting it to fail, but it was very reliable.

They scanning of the teeth could be streamlined a bit, maybe by adding an option to skip the tutorials after the 3rd scan or something. There are some unstoppable tutorials that overall add a few minutes to the process of scanning your teeth to send off. Besides that the messaging system is a little clunky but that can be resolved from making some features more asynchronous. For example after sending a message a notification appears saying it’s been sent and I need to wait like 3 seconds for it to go away before I can scroll, leave the window or send another message. If this notification is made asynchronous it can be closed or ignored without pausing app functionality.

It's not like I have an alternative right? But it's easy to use and means I don't need to travel for in-person appointments, that's pretty awesome.Ever since my orthodontist's local office closed down I've had to travel to their either one which takes me at least two hours by bus and train each way! Good public transport is a godsend people, but if you don't have that, this app helps a lot. 😀

I’m surprised at how easy this is! My partner doesn’t have this all for his clear aligners and he has to go into the dentist once a month…. Who could be bothered? I’ve asked a question through this app and it was answered within 24 hours. It’s easy to use (actually pretty fun for my daughter to watch me use it) and I enjoy seeing the progress pictures too
