Description
The Samsung Family Hub app now works only on Family Hub refrigerators with TIZEN Software Version 4.0 and earlier.
For Samsung Family Hub refrigerators that operate on TIZEN 6.0 Software version and later, the Family Hub app will no longer be supported. Please download and use the SmartThings app instead.
- Features like uploading pictures and videos can be accessed via the Family Hub device card
- Food-related features like View Inside, Recipe Recommendation, Meal Planner, Shopping List and Food List can be accessed via the SmartThings Cooking Service
The Software version can be found on your Family Hub in Settings > About Family Hub> Software version > TIZEN 6.0.
The following permissions are required for the app to work. For optional permissions, the default functionality of the service is turned on, but not allowed.
[Required Access Permission]
- Contacts: Registered Samsung Account information will be used to provide services that require account linking
[Optional Access Permission]
- Microphone: Needed to record voice for Memo and Whiteboard
- Storage: Required to provide cloud-connected features for sharing photos and videos

More functionality on a mobile please
Great app. Some improvement suggestions. I wish I could edit the family board from my phone , I can add things but not change what is already there so it is place on top of the existing, I have to go to the fridge to edit.
I also fine loading 10 photos at a time has a higher rate of failure so I do 5 at a time and it’s fine
Also would like the shopping lists to have a consolidated view option
Also I would like to be able to add recipes from the calendar to favourites, as you can only add to favourites from the main list before you use it
Drop out after a few hours
After a few hours when trying to get into the family hub app after loading a message

than delete app. after reinstall it works for awhile then the whole procedure have to be done again hv
Love the family hub
We were dubious when we bought the Samsung fridge as to whether we needed the internet on a refrigerator. We use the internet every day whether it’s for music, connecting our photos or watching the news whilst preparing meal. We love it!
