Great, but needs one key improvement

I’ve been wanting this to be an app for ages. Logging in via website took too long so I love that there is an app version. The only detail missing is the ability to log into the app with a password / thumbprint / Face ID. We can set up parental controls but the kids can update their settings if the phone is unlocked.

Screen time function does not work

The whole purpose of me getting this app was to be able to quickly and effectively manage my kids screen time. This does not match the time spent or shown in my Microsoft account on the computer and is slow in updating requests and changes, effectively locking my kids out when I have allowed them time, making this app a complete waste of time. The time zone appears to be wrong and I have diligently updated all users current time zones in the user profile to to avail, the app is still not synced with the computer account screen time. There seems to be a bug that numerous posters in forums and reviews here have raised, and Microsoft developers are ignoring.

Don’t bother…

This is the worst app digital product experience I think I’ve ever had and think Microsoft have done a very poor job at making family safety easy and manageable. My sons laptop worked fine with the restrictions I placed via outlook and xbox account but a month or so later his laptop was bricked with restrictions that Edge had a number of defaults that I couldn’t change in Family Safety, this included blocking other browsers like Chrome without asking for admin permission. Very dodgy practice to from Microsoft and they should be ashamed. Took ages to find solution, none of which was provided by Microsoft. Thanks for wasting my time.
