Easy to set up, great security
I have never sent money abroad before and I was quite nervous. This WU app made things very easy and the fact that WU rang me to check I was making the transaction gave me great confidence. The transaction went through smoothly and I can now send money to our grandchildren so that their mother can buy Christmas and birthday gifts knowing that the sizes are correct and that the children will indeed like their presents.
Thieves. Total rubbish, don’t use POLi
I used POLi as a payment option, my account was charged, more than 3 weeks later I received an email saying that this transaction was cancelled and I haven’t been charged.
I go into my banking app and I can see that I was charged the amount and till today when I received the cancellation email, I did not receive this transaction amount in my bank account.
Contacted customer service, they didn’t keep me on hold for a long time which is good but the rep was annoying and kept repeating “let me akusplain this”. Said that I will receive the money in whatever time my bank takes to transfer it to my account.
A month and 10 days later, I checked the status of my refunds. To my surprise I have received only one refund and the other refund is still not there. When I went to my WU app, I found that the thieves at Western Union had removed all traces of the transaction from my account which they are yet to pay. Thankfully I had an email from them and my bank account shows that money was deducted, so with this I contacted them. They were able to locate the transaction but admitted that this transaction is not visible/missing from my end.
One of the biggest & oldest remitters now resorting to stealing customers money to make money. What a fall.
Worst Customer Service and App Experience
Everytime I try to make a transaction the error c9999 comes up. When I complained about it, they said it will be fixed in 24-48 hours! Waiting 5 days after that but no response from them. I called again, they “Assured” me that someone will contact me within 24 hours. Did they? NO! Its been a month since then. Still not able to use the app and still get the error message. They then sent me an automated email saying I should go to an agent to make a transaction meanwhile they are fixing this.
Well, if I could go to an agent everytime I wanted to make a transaction, I would have never downloaded the app in the first place. I downloaded it because I thought it is convenient and time efficient because I work 9-5 5 days a week (the only time agents are open here). To go an agent I have to go a long way which will consume half me Saturday (also most of them are closed on Weekends).
I have contacted 4 times already in a month but there is absolutely no response or initiative from there side! They keep making fake promises of either solving the problem or someone contacting me. Also keep saying we are aware of this and it a “MINOR” issue which can be easily solved! Well, then why isn’t it solved yet?
