Audio great, streaming not great

One of the reasons I bought Oticon (Intent 3 miniRITE) hearing aids was so I could listen to streaming audio - podcasts, radio etc. Well, the quality is dreadful. One or both hearing aids keep echoing on and off or disconnecting on and off if I keep my iphone anywhere but my top shirt pocket. If my iphone is in my pants pocket as I walk, the sound keeps dropping in and out as I walk. Terrible. If the phone is stationary on a table at home they work fine but they seem to have a problem with your body moving the phone as in walking or jogging. Surely the MFI Bluetooth could be better than this, Oticon.

Developer Response ,

Dear chagrin22, thank you for reaching out. I hope we can help you with the issue that you are experiencing while streaming audio from your phone to the Intent hearing aids. Hearing Aids
need to last all day, so they use Low Energy technology to give you 22+ hours of use. They are small and discrete, and they have smaller power than a headset

because aids use Low Energy Bluetooth, your headset (which uses Bluetooth Classic) can also be connected to your phone at he same time. We have some recommendation to be able to stream smoothly with your aids: since the signal does not reach aids if the phone is in back pocket of your pants (as the body is between phone and aids, and it weakens the signal) we recommend to keep the phone on the front of the body. Also, we do recommend avoiding tights pockets which press the phone to the body. Hopefully, the above suggestions will help you finally experience a top of the line streaming experience. Kind Regards, Oticon

Completely inaccessible app with Screen reader Voiceover

As a long-term user of Oticon aids who happens to be blind, words cannot adequately convey my disappointment and frustration with this app. The previous app provided full accessibility to all of its features using Voiceover (the screen reader used by blind individuals on iPhones). The new app has been so poorly rendered that no features now work with Voiceover, cutting me off from features that were previously available. This includes features that are only available through the app, such as the Sound More Booster, and Remote Care. To add insult to injury, I was assured by a representative of the developer that the old app would not be discontinued until accessibility features were addressed. The old app was subsequently discontinued. I have tried to engage constructively. I have tried explaining how annoying and frustrating it is to spend thousands of dollars on a product that is at the top of the line, only to be let down by a disgracefully poor app whose design team has clearly given no consideration to accessibility. The sad thing is that all of the tools that could and should have been used to make the app accessible for blind users were right in front of them and were embedded really well into the old On and Remote apps. Please, escalate this review to your team lead, and do better.

Developer Response ,

Dear Hcmac0, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry about the inconvenience. I will escalate the concern to the relevant team. Kind Regards, Oticon

Not sure what is supposed to go here

Unfortunately, I feel that my hearing aids not up to scratch and certainly not as efficient as the previous model model aids that I owned. The present aids are very poor in relation to Internet connectivity and nowhere as good as my previous ones. They often do not connect. The range is very poor and often unreliable and remaining connected. The background noise I experience in cafes and around groups of people is in my opinion below standard..

Developer Response ,

Dear Paddlingman, thank you for your feedback. Please, be assured that our developers are constantly working to provide better connectivity to all users of the Oticon Companion app. If you can not pair your hearing aids, do not hesitate to the dedicated team at appsupport@oticon.com and they will be glad to help you! Regarding the background noise experience, it makes sense to inform the audiologist that fitted your hearing aids about this, as they might be able to adjust your hearing aids with the fitting software at the clinic to provide a more accurate hearing experience. I hope it helps! Kind Regards, Oticon
