Sock is awesome, you’ll sleep better! - new app is buggy

Love the sock and base station - such an awesome device and puts your mind at ease. I check it at work when my partner and baby are home and it’s just nice to see your babies heart rate and oxygen is good during the day. I think the socks a must have.

The app sometimes doesn’t connect or is slow to connect... sometimes shows the sock being low battery after a charge and then will refresh it’s self quite some time later which is annoying as I thought we didn’t plug it in property and took the sock off sleeping baby to charge and then it said charged afterward. History does have missing parts and can be hours delayed?

But the app isn’t needed for the sock to function. Because the base station does all the alerts. But would be great to see bug fixes on app.

Overall a good product

Overall a good product, I love the heart rate and oxygen levels as we can see when my boy is in a deep sleep. This is my wish list: 1. Apple TV / iPad / Chrome cast support - we use the lounge room tv to watch him, at the moment we are screen casting from a iPad using the mobile phone app. The image quality isn’t the best on the iPad and on the tv it’s bearable. 2. Fix the sock low battery warnings - as above I broadcast this view to the tv, then a low battery warning comes up, I acknowledge the warning then turn around and it’s back up! The time between warnings is way… to frequent. 3. For a phone on the local network where the camera and base station is connected it takes for ages to get a connection. It would be good if we could stream the data locally instead of relying on a internet connection, this would help with the 5-10 second delay in the video feed.

As a guy who has his house automated I would also like: A way to get the video feed and sock data from the units in the local network. Getting the video feed will help with the tv aspect and live sock data can help with informing us when a event has happened. This will also allow us to set a heat rate threshold for turning on a light for a simplistic example. Given you need to be on a local network, I don’t see this being a security risk if implemented.

Good, but could be so much better

We’ve used the sock and app for a couple of years now and it’s useful, but with a simple app update it could be so much more useful.

What I would love to see is a simple fix which parents could turn on or choose not to use which sent a non urgent alert to your phone if your child’s oxygen sats dropped below a certain level which is preselected and can be adjusted by the user. Keep the automatic siren & phone notification to always sound an urgent alert if sats drop below 80 (as per its function now) but just add a second tier which alerts (in a calmer way) if they drop to a level which has been programmed by the parent. For example I would program ours to additionally alert me if my daughters dropped to 85 as she has a tendency to obstruct due to having large tonsils and I could then adjust her sleep position before she gets woken by the harsh siren.
