Great app but where is the barcode scanning?

I really like the concept of this app in that you use the camera and to identify recyclables and non-recyclable materials. The main reason I downloaded this app was to use the barcode scanning function but it still yet hasn’t yet been implemented. I understand development of such a thing takes time but when will it be implemented?

Developer Response ,

Hi Xeno thank you for your message! Barcode scanning is still under development, we look forward to releasing this in 2023. Please feel free to contact us any time by email help@recyclemate.com.au and we'd be happy to answer any questions.

It’s okay but needs development

It’s a good app but needs further development. For example I scanned a tuna can and it came up with “do not put in kerb side bins” and then you hit the additional information button that says it can be recycled if cleaned properly. I think it would be better if it first said “yes it can be recycled” and then the additional information tells you what and how it needs to be recycled. Because at this rate the app says nothing can be put in your kerb side bins.

Just some clarity and making it easier to understand would be great.

Needs updating

Concept is good but accuracy poor. Many areas now offer ‘specialist’ recycling options for items such as compact discs, dvd’s, pharmaceutical blister pack, cosmetic packaging, toothpaste tubes, etc.
The app simply says to put it in your general bin.
The kerbside bin choices are too limited. We have an ‘older’ green top (general waste) and a yellow top recycling.
Great concept, implementation needs work
Cheers
