Brought to you by Surf Life Saving Australia, the Beachsafe app includes the location, weather, surf conditions and hazards plus the local facilities for all Australian beaches. Importantly, the current lifesaving service for each beach is listed to help you find the nearest patrolled beach. Beachsafe also provides expert advice about rip currents, flags and signs, waves, marine creatures, surf skills and more.
SLSA recommends swimming at patrolled beaches, between the red and yellow flags.

More information would be nice when a beach is closed
I enjoy this app and have alerts for my beaches but when a beach is closed no reason is given, with COVID it would be nice to know if it’s been closed due to crowd numbers or due to rough conditions
Great for local information
I have only discovered this app and we live very close to beaches. I always worry about getting in the water when our beaches are not patrolled. This app helps me with looking for patrolled beaches and times they will be patrolled. It also teaches me the signs of currents and other useful information.
It is a very informative app that every Australia should have on their phone.
Thank you and I hope it can be promoted for more Australians and overseas visitors
Great info on beach conditions
I have been using the app for a few years and always check out the beach info before I head out. Recently though, the beach I visit the most and I had marked as a Favourite has gone. It is Blacks Beach at Barrack Point and is patrolled by Council lifeguards. Are they no longer included in this app?
