How Does it work?
- Use your own device, because we know that's the screen you like and by not fitting an in-seat screen this reduces fuel = less emissions.
- Be sure you have the most current operating system (e.g. iOS 13 or later). Unfortunately older devices may not handle the features in this app - we're really sorry about that.
- Once onboard, firstly set your device to flight mode and then connect to the Virgin Australia WiFi network . When connected to the onboard WiFi network, launch the app and then start exploring the hundreds of hours of entertainment.
- With 350+ hrs, including recent release movies, over 400 TV episodes, as well concerts and interviews with music industry legends we are sure you will find something to entertain.
Top Tips: Please do check for updates before you fly, make sure your device is fully charged and consider bringing a battery pack for longer flights and don’t forget your earphones!

Chartered flight virgin entertainment
I understand during this pandemic situation much of the luxuries have relaxed like meals, tea/coffee due to contact, but does the virgin entertainment movies need to be relaxed?
It’s been four months and the movies haven’t changed like they used to be every month
I like to pass my time watching movies..... Virgin Australia hope you are watching this :)
Frustrating issue
I’m a frequent flyer with Virgin (Gold) and have found my recent trips using the app to be frustrating to say the least. To the point I’m deciding if I should fly with another airline. When I play an album/music it freezes every 10-30 secs, where I need to log out and log back in only to experience the same issue. This has happened on the last 3 flights I was on last week. I did have the same issues playing a movie in the last flight but only experienced that on one flight. I have the latest app on my phone and took sleep mode off so not sure what else it could be. I did all the usual actions like turning on and off etc. If it’s not fixed, then I’ll be forced to fly another airline as I can’t travel the amount I do without inflight entertainment available.
Poor streaming of content
As other people have commented there is definitely issues in flight with the streaming they provide. Whilst watching movies the feed will stop and buffer so frequently it makes watching content almost impossible.
I have used multiple devices with the latest updates and experienced this same issue on each flight - except one that worked perfectly as it should. I have not experienced this issue with other airlines offering streamed content.
