Version 4.12.1
In this version we have improved some of our navigation flows to make it easier to navigate the app, get in touch with us and open an account.
You can now view other bank account balance and transaction information in the Virgin Money app.
Ratings and Reviews
Good attempt
If I have time to browse, I love going through and customising features and seeing new products. BUT, if I am in a hurry, the only thing I am interested in, is the available balance and transactions. This version of the app, puts products and features ahead of speed and convenience. Home screens should have the most basic information, it is how google dominated the search engine wars. The app also only displays part of the account if there is a secondary card holder and does not plainly state “Available balance (black lettering)= xxxxxx” and “Outstanding balance (red lettering) = xxxxxx”. Instead, it uses minus signs and then a small font available balance. The nature of a credit card is debt, so using minus signs on a debt is not clear and simplified accounting for many households.
I do like the refreshed look and the fingerprint security addition.
This is not my preferred app version and look forward to a review.

Please do not make the mistake I made!
The high interest of a Virgin Boost Account is not worth the headache after the 32 day lockout period expires. My pending transaction in excess of 100k disappeared from my transaction history and the money did not get transferred to the Go account like it was supposed to. The money just became available in the locked Boost account so the only way I could get it was to transfer it to Go account again, take a screen shot of the transaction pending in my Boost account, and wait another 32 days. So, if and when it doesn’t go through again I can show a screen shot of proof when I call them up because if you call up without proof of a transaction in your account they won’t unlock the funds. Of course this means the lockout for me would have been 64 days not 32 as stated. After about 3 hours in total worth of high stress calls to virgin money I got lucky and BOQ Hardship team called me and had instructed Virgin money to release my funds due to a technical error on the day I made the transaction in the Virgin money app which caused the transaction to vanish from my Boost account when the 32 day period expired.
Still not working
This app historically never worked for me. It just sat on the loading screen for 1000 years. So I deleted it and forgot about it. This morning I get an email about the “all-new” app encouraging me to try it out. So I do. Five texts, zero logins and three OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG SOZ’s later, I get another text - “Thanks for updating your email address!” I did no such thing. I was never even able to log in at all. Again. So thanks very much, app developers. Not only is your app STILL broken, but I had to then call Virgin to make sure I wasn’t being skimmed or hacked in some way. Great use of my time. Much appreciated. Sort yourselves out, would you?
