Welcome to the new 511 Alberta app. The 511 Alberta mobile app provides real-time road and traffic information to Alberta drivers. Construction, congestion, and other delays are centrally monitored by the many cameras, sensors, and other data available to Alberta Transportation. Our 511AB app will help you plan your route, anticipate delays, and get where you're going faster. New Version Information The new 511 Alberta includes a completely new app which will require a new installation. This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays: - Road Conditions - Incidents, such as collisions and other road hazards - Over 200 Cameras, frequently updated so you can see the conditions for yourself Other features of the app include: - Route Comparison, enter a destination and get 3 routes with travel times displayed - Route Schedules, you can save a route and set a daily time to have the app run that route before you leave so you can receive automatic notifications - Drive Mode Alerts, you can just start driving with the app on and you will be notified with an audio alert of any delays on the road ahead of you - Citizen Reporter – submit audio reports to the 24/7 Traffic Management Centre (TMC) for issues and conditions that you experience on your route

I recently tried the 511 Alberta app and quickly encountered several issues that make it unreliable and not useful for drivers:Lack of live updates: The app does not reflect actual road conditions in real time, which is essential for drivers who rely on accurate information for safety and planning.Sign-in issues: Despite selecting “Remember Me,” the app requires signing in every time it is opened.No automatic updates: The app does not update itself automatically, which can result in outdated information being displayed. No any updated available.Missing satellite view: A satellite view option would greatly enhance situational awareness but is currently unavailable.Stability issues: The app frequently crashes, further reducing its reliability.As someone who drives for a living, I must rely on accurate and timely information to ensure safety for myself and others on the road. In its current state, the 511 Alberta app does not meet these needs and is therefore not a reliable tool for professional drivers or others who require up-to-date road conditions.Due to these issues, I deleted the app after a week of trying it. It’s 2025, everything is digital.

Frequent Highway driver
The app keeps freezing. I have tried many different ways to trouble shoot. Nothing has worked. It is winter & important road report information is not accessible; NOT good…..

It’s 2025 and Alberta 511 and Saskatchewan 511 are still not able to communicate the travel conditions on Highway 17 in Saskatchewan between the two different provinces and show Highway 17 conditions on the Alberta app. You have to have two apps to be able to find the same information.Maybe you should just join all the prairie provinces into one app like put Alberta Saskatchewan in Manitoba onto one app it seems like you use the same format and app provider!
