the tiimo team is so gifted in their visuals and ui, but it’s really frustrating they altered the routines the way they did. as someone with adhd, the ability to be rushed through every task (i.e. knowing brushing my teeth should take 2.5 minutes only) is invaluable. the timer on the whole routine makes the whole app lose its value. i was paying for premium a long time ago for this feature, but now i’m moving to structured. i know the team has said the app couldn’t exist with that feature, but it clearly DID and i think it should be a priority to bring it back.

Hi,We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed about the app not being free. We try to communicate everywhere that we're a subscription based app with a 14-day free trial. Please trust that we are looking at solutions to make the app more accessible to anyone who needs it. Our team is a neurodiverse one and we currently pay a significant number of ADHD and Autistic partners who work with us on the app. As much as we would love to have a free app, sadly app development and maintenance costs money. We currently do not make any money from the app, and are existing off investment funds. Because we are an app which helps to increase people’s focus, we cannot put adverts into the app as they are a distraction, and therefore go against the very purpose of what we are trying to achieve. We also refuse to sell your data, as we feel especially given the profile of our customers that this would be exploitative. We have worked hard on our pricing structure to make it as affordable as possible, especially in comparison to the majority of assistive technology or support tools that are on the market, which usually are priced in the thousands and therefore are only able to help a small minority of those who could benefit from it. The alternative to not charging what we (and our users) have found is a low, fair price, is that the app cannot exist anymore, and we know that would impact on the thousands of users who have come to rely on the app. I know that this isn't the answer that you want, but trust that we understand your frustration and your comments are noted. I was a loyal, daily user of this app for many years on a paid subscription until their most recent overhaul to how routines work. They also implied that if you didn’t update the app, this change wouldn’t affect you. I heavily relied on the time-based aspect for large routines (e.g. a morning routine) which was fantastic when used with my Apple watch. It was a massive game changer in terms of not losing track of time or tasks that needed to be done in a time crunch as a neurodivergent person. Their newest forced update to routines is frankly horrible, they’ve turned robust routines with timed aspects and notifications into a checklist - making this no better than writing down a list. I had a busy, time-sensitive morning routine all planned out for today and woke up to see it had turned into a checklist in the app, which was extremely jarring to say the least. I used to love this app but considering its geared toward neurodivergent folks, they sure do love to make massive design overhauls or change the entire system constantly which is a little ironic considering many neurodivergent people struggle with change and/or rely on routine heavily. Because of this latest update it looks like I’ll be cancelling my subscription after nearly 5 years, and going back to an old fashioned checklist. RIP to what was once the best planning app I’d ever used.

If there was another solution, we would have taken it instead. While this decision was hard to reach we hope that you know that our focus and goal is still support our users to the best of our ability while making sure that the app remains stable as well.
