Radio Browsing
- There is now an option on top of the app to switch between the "Presets" and the new "Radio" section
- The radio section allows to browse through all available radio services like "TuneIn" and "Radio Paradise"
- Any radio station can be played directly or alternatively be saved as preset or favorite
Source Selection
- Find and select available sources like Bluetooth and optical inputs on the new "Sources" tab
- Please note that Spotify is also displayed on the sources tab, and needs to be controlled with the Spotify app

Support for player groups:
- Groups are now displayed everywhere, in parallel to individual (ungrouped) players
- Create groups of players, add players to existing groups, remove players from groups or ungroup whole groups

The Now Playing widget now has volume controls! There are plus/minus buttons and a tappable volume level bar at the bottom of the widget. You can hide it in the widget settings, if you don't want volume controls there.
Furthermore, all widget layouts have been updated to visually align better with each other, sharing the same top bar, paddings and icons. Also the app UI is now more consistent.
Additional improvements:
- The Now Playing shortcut now additionally returns a text variable, e.g. in order to let Siri speak the result
- The main app now displays more title lines of the currently played track
- The preset numbers can now be hidden via the app settings

This release features an improved top bar, which lets you quickly change the selected player and directly adjust the volume of all your players from one panel.
Furthermore, the battery state is now displayed for all players that have a battery pack. It is visible inside the top bar, the volume panel, the player selection screen and also inside the "Now Playing" widgets. You can configure how it is displayed inside settings.
Please remember: you can hide any unwanted information from the widgets by tapping and holding the widget and then choosing to edit its settings.

- Better background colors that are more eye-friendly and appealing
- Better accessibility of the buttons in the top toolbar
- The "Now Playing" widget now uses more available space in large view, matching the "Presets" widget layout

Revamped Widgets and Shortcuts

Additionally, the app icon now has a fresh new design, emphasizing a "blue remote control". The icon and the widgets are ready for the tinted and dark Home Screen designs on newest iOS versions.
Please note, this is the last version that supports iOS 16. Future updates will require iOS 17 or newer versions.

All new control options are also available in shortcut automations and as Siri commands. All shortcuts and Siri commands now answer with actual results or errors instead of just saying "OK". You can disable result dialogs in the settings of your automations.

This update corrects the behavior of the skip next and back buttons. They were disabled when playing from local library and in some cases enabled for streams, that do not support skipping. (Thanks to Jim for reporting this!)

This release improves the player discovery. Some users seem to have problems finding their player, so more information is displayed and troubleshooting guides are provided.
* showing brand name, model name and model icon of discovered players, if available
* monitoring the online status of each found player continuously
* detecting players that need initial setup – showing a hint that those players need to be setup before they can be used with BluRemote
* displaying unsupported devices – music devices that could be found inside the network, but are not BluOS-compatible
If no compatible player can be found, a new troubleshooting guide is available after some seconds, which describes common issues and solutions.

BluRemote now supports the Shortcuts app. You can automate following actions for your connected player:
- Start and stop playback
- Select and start a preset
- Skip the current track (forward and backward)
- Set the volume (between 0 and 100 percent)
Furthermore, you can use several voice commands with Siri to execute the actions, for example short commands like:
- "BluRemote, start"
- "BluRemote, stop"
- "BluRemote, next"
- "BluRemote, previous"
Or use longer sentences like:
- "Stop playback in BluRemote app"
- "Full volume in BluRemote app"
- "Select a preset in BluRemote app"
The most common actions are also available as predefined Shortcuts and in Spotlight.

This update brings the long awaited full-screen "now playing" view. Tap the small cover image or the small track information texts and the "now playing" view slides in from the bottom.
Matching the BluRemote philosophy, the screen layout is clean and focused in order to show the most important information at first sight: the cover image and playback progress, the track information, and the play, pause and skip buttons.
You can reveal more meta data – like stream quality, bitrate and the service name – by tapping the track information texts or by enabling the options on the settings screen. You can also quickly access the volume control and player selection by using the buttons on the top right corner.
