I installed the Abode system more than a year ago now and having lived with it now for a decent amount of time I can confidently say it’s excellent. I moved to Abode from the smart system of one of the world's biggest and best known security firms and have no regrets - Abode is head and shoulders better.
I have added on to the base starter pack so that I can cover 3 exterior buildings ie shed, bike shed, store room.
The geofencing works very well and I really appreciate the fact it doesn’t rely on mains electricity and Wi-Fi alone. Also the fact that I can temporarily increase the level of monitoring when I need it.
Buy with confidence.
High expectation, big disappointment…
I have been using abode for a year and a half. Quite frankly, it is not reliable at all. I live in the uk, and I started with a set to secure the house but there was lack of materials. Understandable by the time we were in… still missing items to buy.
Software and system is horrible. Every time there is an update, the system crashes.
Not it is using cell back up for a week despite reset, reboot and reinicialice… not working which means cameras are not available and everything else. This system will go to the bin when we move..
I do not recommend it at all at least if you are in the UK.
A good app, but let down by the lack of VoiceOver accessibility.
Got the Abode app, as I wanted a non-Amazon solution for my home security needs, but unfortunately the app isn’t very accessible for blind people that use the voice over screen reader contacted Abode about this but they didn’t seem interested in fixing the accessibility issues with that app also something I’ve noticed is that when the doorbell runs low on battery you do not receive any notifications or alerts this has happened. The doorbell seems to stop working and you have to go and look at the battery status
