Everybody wants more

I have been using the absolute app for a few years now. I access the site every weekend and most nights. It's great access to music when most radio stations go either off piste or stick on the evening loop tapes and serve out the same old tut night after night.
The great thing about absolute is you get to select your decade and to some degree your genre. Take it to another level and. Exonerated a member (it's free) and you don't listen to as many ad's. Everybody wants more and so here it is, more.
I mean Frank Skinner on a Saturday morning and Jason Manford on a Sunday morning, now everyone is trying a celebrity format at the weekends.... just not doing quite as good a job of it.
I lived in Dublin for a while and I could access Absolute there on the app, I was away for a short break in Paris recently and it's there too, anywhere I go on holiday, it's there. My advice, download it, try it, if it's not for you delete it, but you won't, it's one of those apps that will creep up the pages and will soon be on your front screen, then the dilemma of which one does it replace .....

Absolutely brilliant app. Does exactly what it says on the tin!
However, it needs to be said that Classic Rock plays almost the exact same tracks each evening!
Originally I only listened to Classic Rock and it was always around 10 in the evening till about midnight. Within that time you could bet that you’d hear about 75% of the songs you’d heard the night before. I ended up changing to the main channel for a bit more variety.
Only other gripe I have is that all the competitions, which are superb by the way, are mainly in the London area! I’m totally gutted because I’d love to take part in the majority concert based comps, plus all the “Wicks” ones, and the pub quiz ones. Actually I’d have a go at the lot as they really have some cracking competition prizes, but being North of the Border means I can only listen to the happy winning feckers and imagine how blinkin’ superb they must be feeling after scooping the prize they’d just got. Gutted!!!
Anyhoo I gave 5 stars in the hope that they track me down and get me to an exclusive gig with Muse or Coldplay. In return I’d delete the part above about Classic Rock!

Disappointing changes

I am an avid listener of Absolute in my car, but ever since the app changed a few months ago it has not worked anywhere near as well for me. My car stereo displays the track name and artist when my iPhone is connected via USB, and this used to work with the Absolute app too, however since the app changed it now displays the first song played for the entire duration of my journey. A small thing but annoying all the same. The worst thing however is that now if my phone loses data connection (which it does at exactly the same points in my journey every day) I now seem to have to manually restart the music by pressing play on my phone which I never used to have to do. I hoped these bugs would be sorted soon after the initial roll out but unfortunately not ☹️
