Good but there are some improvements that would make it better.

I like the fact that I can access my pension easily.

However:

The app does not scale to the screen size, so it works well on a mobile phone but not a tablet/iPad. This is frustrating.

The overview is okay but the addition of a performance graph would be better. Just simply showing a red or green number of the past 12 months doesn’t help. My pension with you currently shows £1,000 ish down over the last 12 months but i know this isn’t the entire story.

The Aviva App for pensions provides the two improvements mentioned above.

If you wanted to set yourself apart from competitors, the ability to look back at pass performance would be an advantage and if you really wanted to push the boat out, the inclusion of a performance comparison against the related benchmark would be great.

I have a total of 3 pensions not being actively contributed to and am currently considering with one to transfer the other 2 into. The performance is a major consideration yes (so graphs will help me do this) but so it the services and features offered.

Please consider these changes as they may encourage me to keep my pension with you. At the moment, analysis shows advantages for leaving.

Hello Beth, thank you for your comments.
The app is not optimised for tablets and IPads at present, as you say will work but not scale to size /show full screen.

We are looking to improve the investment performance section showing the FE 'dynamic' factsheet instead of the current static versions. They will have performance graphs that allow comparison against benchmark.

It’s a start

Would be good if you could see investment performance over time by fund rather than only the aggregated return on their investment. Also needs better display of historic performance of all available funds so. Providing both of these would facilitate savers/investors to drop funds that are under performing in their eyes and to seek better performance - which could generate a greater fee take for Aegon. Comparisons vs major indices (ftse 100; S&P 500 etc) would also be good. Website also needs these functions.

Good app / poor security

I downloaded your app to check the status of my pension easily and conveniently. However, I was disappointed to discover that the app does not clear or blank the screen once I exit the app, unlike my other pension apps. This leaves my pension fund balance on the screen, which poses a serious security and privacy risk. Anyone who has access to my phone can see my personal financial information without my consent.
This is unacceptable and I urge you to provide a solution for this issue as soon as possible. I suggest that you add an option for a timer for the app to lock again after a certain period of inactivity, so that I can make an informed choice about how long my financial information is viewable on the screen. Alternatively, you can make the app clear or blank the screen automatically once I exit the app, like other pension apps do.
