I recently moved my SIPP and ISA from Hargreaves Lansdowne to AJ Bell because I was paying a higher platform fee for a HG capability that I didn’t fully use. The transfer occurred within the 5 weeks AJ Bell said it would but it did require 3 x calls to understand why a couple of funds were taking longer than the rest. Phone enquiries were efficient and people did what they said they would do after the calls. Dealing seems easy and matches the parts of HG’s platform that I was using in terms of info and ease of dealing . So far: I’m very glad that I switched to save on the platform costs and I don’t seem to have lost any of the capability of the parts of the platform that I was using at HL after switching to AJ Bell - pleasing result.

I really like the AJ Bell app – it’s very useful, well laid out, and makes investing simple and accessible. The service and customer service from AJ Bell are fantastic, which gives me confidence using the platform.I am totally blind and use VoiceOver on my iPhone, and for the most part, the app works very well with it. There are, however, a couple of accessibility quirks that I hope can be fixed in future updates. The standard VoiceOver “scrub” gesture (two fingers drawn in a Z-shape on the screen) does not work to go back on any of the functional screens in the app, which means I have to locate the back button manually every time.Also, when buying a fund, the switch to include fees works perfectly with VoiceOver, but the switch to confirm that I have read the Key Investor Information Document will not activate as expected when using VoiceOver, which can make completing a purchase difficult without sighted assistance.I would very much appreciate it if the developer responsible for accessibility could look into these issues for me, and hopefully when they are fixed, I can recommend the app to my visually impaired friends and family.Fixing these two issues would make an already excellent app fully accessible and even better for blind users.

Been using the app for a year+ and generally like what it provides, although certain things are a bit clunky like when you’ve got more than one type of account. Would be neat if there was a whole portfolio overview as I’ve got the same fund across multiple accounts.**BUG**: In the total fund manager charges for the fund with ISIN GB00BMJJJF91, the initial charge is £0, the annual ongoing is £7.80, so the total in my mind is £7.80, but the app says it’s £5.19. The ‘amount’ the charges are being calculated for in this example is £6000, but it’s the same story no matter what value you put in. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding something though, which still means further clarification could be added in the app.

Edit: fyi the app update is abit buggy on my iPhone mini. Within an account page the width fomatting of each of the investment goes haywire and jump around on scrollingISA and SIPP user. Love ease of use, faceID, easy funding and great selection of funds, stocks etc 8/10. In terms of feature suggestions for future versions: I’d really love to be able to specifically choose the timeframe (day, month, all time) for the percent and price change figures shown no on each investment - as the timeframe shown is abit ambiguous at the moment. Also would love an automatic dark/light mode which aligns with phone OS. Anyway fantastic app. 👍
