It worked for me

I never thought it would, having never been a runner, but this so worked for me. Initially I found the first steps of running very difficult and lived for the walking periods but with the app's challenge I found I could do more and more running. Like most people I suppose, I got stuck at week 6 where you run for much more than you walk, but I stuck with it and repeated that week. There was no way that I could have imagined running for 30 minutes when I first started, so give it a go and live for the challenge. Just a heads up: finishing the eight weeks doesn't actually mean that you have run 5k, only that you have run nonstop for 30 mins. If you're like me, this means that you're a couple of minutes off 5k...I must be a slow runner! This is no bother, your achievement is still immense and real.

So far over the moon

Was always sporty but never had stamina and loathed running. Am “ large” and overweight. 2 years off 50 and something clicked in my head which made me look for a running app to help me get fit, do some serious cardio to supplement a good diet. Found C25K on the Internet. Am now into 5th week. Have been doing it every second day. Can already see weight loss. Am so determined to get through it and I can almost say I am loving it. It’s easy. It’s is realistic. Today was almost “easy” and my heart rate is down which shows I’ve improved and need to push myself. Hope this is going to help me change my life. So far, can highly recommend. What a great app.

I’m not a runner, I’m a thrower competing in my 40s. I’ve entered the London marathon so needed somewhere to start training from. 8 weeks ago the first week killed me but I’ve finished the programme on schedule on top of working day and night shifts and amazed myself that I can run a whole 30 minutes. I like that this app gives you distance and time targets - I am a little slow still so only running over 2 miles at the end but this app is about you and your pace. I’d recommend it to anybody who needs a starting point. I’m giving myself a few weeks to get up to 5k and to be comfortable with it then will download the 10k app. If I can do this, anybody can!
