Description

Now you can follow up to five people simultaneously. Right on your phone, The CareLink™ Connect app provides an easy way to view the sensor glucose levels of a person with diabetes using some Medtronic devices.

When a family member or a friend has diabetes, you want to be supportive and stay close. You might want to know if their glucose levels go too high or too low, be able to quickly and easily access their insulin pump or Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system information.

To remotely access sensor glucose levels or pump system information, care partners need to install the CareLink™ Connect app on their smartphone. Additionally, the person with diabetes must have a compatible MiniMed™ insulin pump or CGM connected to the CareLink™ software through the corresponding patient mobile app. For more information about the CareLink™ Connect app, please visit the local Medtronic website or contact a representative.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For real-time updates, the app must consistently receive data from the CareLink™ server, while the insulin pump or CGM system must continually upload data to the CareLink™ server. The CareLink™ Connect app exclusively supports the MiniMed ™ 700-series insulin pump and selected CGM systems. It does not support all other CGM systems, MiniMed™, or Paradigm™ insulin pumps. To find a list of compatible smartphones, please visit your local Medtronic website.

The CareLink™ Connect app is intended to provide a secondary display of insulin pump and CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) data on a supported mobile device. CareLink™ Connect app is not intended to replace the real-time display of insulin pump or CGM data on the primary display device. All therapy decisions should be based on the primary display device.

CareLink™ Connect app is not intended to analyze or modify the insulin pump and CGM data that it receives. Nor is it intended to control any function of the insulin pump or CGM system to which it is connected. CareLink™ Connect app is not intended to receive information directly from the insulin pump or CGM system.

This app is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Great but missing some things

My wife recently got a new Medtronic pump that uses this App.

The app is mostly good at what it does but it would be better if you could make notifications repeat. Or make sure you have acknowledged them before it stops. Currently you only get 1 notification which isn’t great when it’s such an important health App.

My other MAJOR concern and something I would really like is to get a notification should the phone lose Bluetooth contact with the Pump/Sensor. Currently you don’t get any notification, my wife shares her pump data with me and her mum so we all get to know if she is having a hypo etc. The way things are currently her phone could be getting no information for hours (during the night etc ) and it doesn’t alarm at all. This also means I couldn’t help if required. I know her pump would vibrate if her sugar did drop low but it’s much better if phones alarmed.

I really think it would be beneficial if the iPhone App could send out a notification should data be lost for a period of time.

Amazing again thanks to update

This app is a lifesaver literally. It sends me alerts if my hubby is having a low while’s asleep and didn’t hear his own alarm. He is hypo unaware so has no symptoms until he starts seizing when levels get extremely low . With this app I get an alert whenever he might need assistance and can make sure he’s okay before it gets too serious. Honestly , along with the guardian 4 sensor and 780g pump we both feel we have our lives back. Stress levels are at a minimum now and juggling that blue balloon feels much more manageable.
It does have to be said though that for quite a while before this update, several features of the carelink app were not working. This meant more risks and more stress as we had to double check details etc more regularly.
Thank you fixing the bugs etc.
My only request to Medtronic would be to keep doing “regular updates” more often and to never underestimate how much of a difference this app can have to people’s everyday lives.

It’s not bad , it’s VERY VERY VERY bad

It’s rubbish. It really is.
And let me tell you why.

Medtronic don’t make money from the app.
They make money by having kids on their systems , and that is 24/7 , and that’s where the big bucks are
My little daughter is on the 780g and Guardian 4.

And let me tell you this , ANY company , ANY company that cares about the people that make them the money , the people that fund Medtronic by being on their systems , any company that ACTUALLY cares about it’s customers , well they would care about having a good app to give parents peace of mind , an app that helps the parents of Type 1 kids and helps the kids and care partners be able to have the facility to monitor.

But they don’t care , it’s that obvious by looking at the app , it’s the most unreliable app you could imagine.
They don’t invest in it , they couldn’t care about it disconnecting every 5 minutes.
Because if they did care they would make the app as good as their pumps etc.

As I said , they don’t invest money in the app because it won’t make them money and all they want is money.
It’s bad , it’s really bad , and an app says a lot about a company.
A lot.
So need I say any more ?
There is no point , they have their Monopoly on equipment , they really don’t care about ANYTHING except how much money they can make , and they don’t make it from an app !!!

It’s a DISGRACE !!!
