Used to be great
This card and app was perfect, but now gone down hill. At the airport trying to transfer money and it kept rejecting it, as i had uploaded a new card and it didnt recognise my card registered address despite logging into the website. I think had to send them a bank statement with address as proof- luckily my internet bank hsbc generates pdf statements
Anyway, it took 2 days to get sorted and messed up my trip. Theres no customer service in the evenings which i find a joke. It should be 24hrs like every other bank
Am looking for more reliable alternatives
I have had a Caxton Card for many years now. I always have great service wherever I use it, whether it’s paying for a meal in a restaurant in Tenerife or drawing out cash at one of the local cash machines. Myself and two family members all have our own Caxton cards and love using the app to check our balance or load our card. I really like the fact that any leftover currency can be transferred back onto a UK debit card. I would whole heartedly recommend having a Caxton Card as it provides for all your currency needs😊
Not great functionality - beware
I just received two new Caxton red cards, cheap compared to competitors in as much as I get charged 5.00 pmonth for two cards. The web app however is not what was expected and sadly lacking in functionality. N26 for example allows partial blocking - control over online payments on/off, ATM withdrawals on/off etc. There are also other nice functions that I think most people would expect as std. All in all I am initially really dissapointed, even the card block function is a 1 way street, block it and you have to phone Caxton to unblock, not so with other cards - you have full control. I guess I will be cancelling shortly!
