CBeebies Storytime introduces children to a world of stories through beautiful, interactive story books. The app aims to inspire a love of stories in every child in the UK and support early years reading. The stories in the app promote CBeebies’ core values, with themes of inclusivity, sharing, friendship and more. There are two reading modes to choose from, so children can read independently or with a grown-up. All the stories are free to download, with no adverts or in-app purchases.

Children can go an exciting adventure with the Octonauts, journey through Musical Storyland with the Three Billy Goats Gruff, settle down with the CBeebies Bedtime Stories collection, take a woodland walk with the Colourblocks, save the day with Supertato, have fun in the snow with Mr Tumble, wind down with Bing and Hoppity Voosh, celebrate your inner superhero with Biff & Chip, catch the bus with JoJo & Gran Gran, go on a detective adventure with Numberblocks, take a trip to the theatre with Alphablocks, earn your story badge with Duggee and the Squirrels, travel back in time and meet the dinosaurs with Andy, join Peter Rabbit and friends as they go on an adventure, have a carnival party with JoJo & Gran Gran, go on a treasure hunt with Love Monster, say goodnight with Moon and Me and more!

Storytime features playful interactions, popular CBeebies characters, well-loved authors, and high-quality stories so children can enjoy reading, playing, and learning. Our app seeks to support traditional physical books by offering a magical interactive journey that encourages a love of stories and an immersive reading experience for children.

Good but just one thing…..

My young in loved this game but he stopped playing it after a couple weeks, and I wanted to figure out why. I went on the app while he was busy, and I saw why he had stopped playing it….he had read all of the stories, even the bedtime stories. I had no idea how he had managed it, but he had downloaded and read every single story the app had, I have not noticed if new stories are added, but if not could u make that happen? Thanks, From , GF

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your feedback.
CBeebies are adding new stories to the collection. Andy's Adventures: Andy and the Baby T-Rex was added in November. The latest addition in December is The Night Before Christmas. Keep your eye out for new stories released in the New Year.

Kind regards
CBeebies Apps Team

💔😈😡it is demon😫😤😒 ,

Fakers!andOn the night before Christmas where’s Rudolph

I wached the bing one and you faked it! I wached the episode and it was so different it’s from the same episode and you keep getting the animations wrong 😠 why won’t you ever learn?! why? WHY? WHY?! By the way when I read the night before Christmas you’re missing out a very important reindeer Rudolph how could you?! If you don’t know Rudolph then you will have to go to a preschool and I know what you said to other people and it was just the same thing so don’t say it to me because I already know I’m a smarty-pants and there is no more swiping😭 where did the fun go u mean people kid like me loved the old version 😠 and now the characters only move a tiny bit! And where are the quizzes now mummies don’t know if the kids have been paying attention to the story because without your quizzes what if they say wow you pay great attention and then the kid says no I didn’t it’s CBeebies story time because they didn’t add that educational quiz that was good for you so yeah add in the quizzes or else

😢 mummy ,

Disappointing updated version

My child used to love the cbbc Storytime app. It had lots of wonderful interactive and educational stories with all his favourite characters. His big brother loved it too as lots of stories to suit all ages. However, we were both really surprised when the updated version was released recently. Stories are very limited (10 stories at present time) and the interactive element has largely gone. My son loved pressing the octoalert button or helping David Attenborough capture a Komodo dragon, but now ‘interaction’ comprises of tapping a character to make them move slightly. Although the app is still useful -and nd there doesn’t seem to be anything else like it- I just don’t understand why you would remove a fantastic app and replace it with a very limited and inferior one?!

Developer Response ,

Hello, we are sorry you're disappointed with the new app. Unfortunately, the previous Storytime was built on old technology that wasn’t easy to update and fix. By updating the app, we will be able to make improvements and add new stories, but unfortunately we have had to remove some of the older stories. We appreciate change can be difficult for children, so alongside adding new stories regularly to the app throughout the year, we have put many of the old stories on the CBeebies website here to watch as video playthroughs https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/curations/storytime-stories. Thank you for your feedback on the interactive element, this is under review at the moment and any insights will be integrated into future stories.

Kind regards, CBeebies apps team.
