Poor functionality

Given this is a national app it’s incredibly poor. As others have said it’s better than the previous one but only just. I have 3 charging sessions just sitting as open weeks later, the app regularly freezes, it doesn’t show a list of charging points at a location, you can’t see if a point is being used unless you click in to it, it shows charge points you have to phone up to get started, etc.

To top it all off I regularly can’t start a charge from the app and have to use the RFID card that I had to pay a tenner for and the app then doesn’t show the session.

It needs a revamp, especially given the number of electric cars in increasing rapidly.

I have had the app since getting my electric car at the start of the year and haven’t been able to log in once, I just get a grey screen. In the two week period while waiting for a replacement RFID, or in cases where the card reader on a charger is broken you would normally be able to start a charge from the app but obviously if you can’t log in that doesn’t work. This leaves you the choice of waiting on hold for half an hour to get someone to start your charge over the phone or use a web browser and the WebPay version to start it, having to key in bank details and authorise the transaction in your bank’s app every time, neither of which are great when there’s a queue for the charger. Also, some chargers can’t be started remotely by either of those methods and you’re stuck! It’s great.

Map is ok, but nothing else works

I’m still waiting for my card after 3 weeks, but thought I could use the app to start a charge - got that wrong! I have only tried two locations (the charger nearest to my home isn’t on the map at all), but the first one only worked with a card. Luckily the establishment lent me one of their spare cards. Today I went to a place with four chargers. The numbers on the chargers themselves didn’t match the ones on the app, and all said they were unavailable. I called the helpline who were very helpful and got me connected remotely, but I spent 10 minutes on the phone then, and another 10 minutes calling back to get the charger to stop.
I’m really hoping that the card arrives soon, but there is a long delay on that, and in the meantime, I feel quite helpless.
