Unreliable Connection Issues in Dexcom One App

I've been using the Dexcom One app for a while now, and I feel compelled to share my experience with others who might be considering this app. Although the concept behind the app is excellent, its execution falls short in terms of reliability and consistency.

The primary issue I've encountered is that the app seems to crash in the background frequently. This results in lost connections, which means I don't receive any warnings or notifications when they're most needed. Even more frustrating is the gap in data that occurs as a result of these crashes, making it challenging to track my health accurately.

The crashes seem to happen both during sleep and throughout the day, making it difficult to rely on the app for continuous monitoring. I've tried troubleshooting and following the app's recommendations, but the problem persists.

I appreciate the effort put into developing the Dexcom One app, but until the connection issues and background crashes are resolved, I cannot fully recommend it. It's essential for an app like this to provide consistent and accurate data to ensure users can effectively manage their health. I hope the developers address these issues in future updates to make the app more dependable for users like myself.

Game changer.

Been using the Dexcom One for about 6 months now, so feel that’s long enough to give a review. Have to say, I have had very few problems with the system, with Apple Health connection turned on (using iPhone 14 Pro if that matters to anyone). Let’s be honest, if you want the bells and whistles of the G6 or G7, then buy those as the One doesn’t have them. What it does have is accurate, stable recording, I personally still use a manual meter at least once a day, as advised by the nurse, just to compare, as I have found that placing of CGM’s and knocks can affect the readings, and each meter is slightly different. However, that is environmental and doesn’t reflect on the app. I have had very few issues with disconnections and I swim for at least 2 hours a week, the app reconnects quickly when back in range of my phone. The alerts are loud.. good! And I use the iPhone focus so that I can still get urgent notifications rather than just muting, so that mute is for proper quiet times (like the cinema). Let’s be honest, it would be nice to have some of the other features, and I would like an iWatch app, so I could have it paired to both and get alerts while exercising. Honestly, if you are reading all the old bad reviews, like I did, before getting it, I would say give it a try, as my issues have been minimal (and mostly caused by myself!) and it has really, truly let me understand where my sugar levels are going at any point in time.

Unreliable Life Support

Dear Dexcom, to start, please don’t reply with your stock response, you are playing with people’s lives and I feel that you should be taking these reviews a lot more seriously. We understand that we shouldn’t rely on the Dexcom system and need to continue to finger test however this is our experience of this system and how terrible it is.
My partner was moved by the NHS onto Dexcom from Libre when she started using the new Medtronic pump. We were really excited at the time but the Dexcom experience has been absolutely shocking. She is a type one diabetic with very erratic levels, no matter how strict. The Libre system was amazing with how well it worked, the ease of use and the level of reporting and the fact it was 90% reliable. The Dexcom system in comparison is very much an 80’s Skoda vs the Libre, a modern Audi. With continual crashes, large holes in the recording data, poor reporting, the inability to real time multi device share and general poor functionality, the Dexcom system presents some serious risks to their users. The best solution would be to withdraw it from the market until proper testing has been completed and all of the serious kinks, ironed out. We’re trying hard to have ours changed back to Libre or to something else as the concerns and anxieties caused by the Dexcom system are not acceptable when you’re already trying to deal with a potentially life threatening and debilitating illness.
