At last I can search for files again. When I first started with Documents 5, I could search for files no problem but as my files increased in number the search facility stopped working. 'Scratching my head' brought no answers and hence Documents limped along but now in Documents 7, I see the search facility is functioning again. HOORAY! I do wish Readdle would fix the issue with another app called Documents as it causes confusion as to which of the two Documents apps to select and I like both of them. Just a rider for the developers: I have never installed a beta version of Documents, EVER. I have contacted you on more than one occasion regarding the search facility but failed to get a response that worked but let's not get into recriminations. You are an honest developer and Documents 7 will now search again. Thank you for the update and all the other improvements.

I use this App everyday, it is one of those Apps that I found the more I used and explored become more and more useful. I initially purchased this App to store some of my office documents so I could review and edits files while out off the office. After further use I found I could also zip/unzip files which proved to be very useful as well as storing and playing audio files. The ability to unzip files is a great feature because I was being sent most of my office files archived for obvious reasons.As well as having access to the files you import into the App you also get access to your podcasts and photos thereby not requiring you to leave the App. I have a Wishlist I hope the developers will think about. 1. I am starting to get very annoyed with the Audio player. It needs the ability to skip forward and backwards such as 30 seconds and for this to be configurable. I listen to loads of dictation and audio shows and the ability to jump around would be great. 2. Not sure if it can be done but adding my own short cuts on the left menu will be a good feature. 3. When I save a PDF or other doc to Documents it automatically opens the file. Can this be turned off? Other wise could there be an option. 4. Integration with apps like 1Password would help with saving document passwords era.

A best-in-class app for many years, now crippled with limited functionality because of developers’ greed. Without warning or mention of change, Readdle sneakily removed functionality in a recent update making previously inclusive features expensive subscription-only.They described the update as improving the experience by resolving issues and enhancing performance. This maybe, but they neglected to mention the removal of functionality. This is underhanded behaviour. Yes, charge a subscription for NEW features and let people decide if they want them or not; don’t remove features which always worked. They say certain “advanced tools” which are part of Documents Plus subscription were temporarily accessible due to a technical issue and these features were not intended to be available without a Documents Plus subscription. I’ve been using Documents for over a decade, so these features were certainly not temporary, they have always been available. When they introduced the Documents plus subscription it did provide more features, but these were unnecessary for my needs as an older person on minimum fixed income, I don’t want AI features. I know app developers need to make money, this doesn’t mean they should rip people off. I’d pay a single one-off £20 payment (or even £1.99 a year) to unlock features, but certainly not 9.99 a month! This is way too expensive. It’s not only Readdle who are guilty of overcharging; This subscription madness needs to stop. Be warned, if you’re happy with the current functionality, DO NOT UPDATE IT.
