DS photo allows you to browse through the photo collection on your Synology NAS server on the go, as well as interact with friends using the comments in real time. Organising your photos is easy: with traditional albums, using tags to create virtual albums or with a simple tap with the timeline mode! Better yet, download albums to the iDevice to view them even when no network connection is available, and use the Photo Backup to effortlessly upload your photos taken with your iDevice onto your own personal cloud.

Frustrating bug
I was hoping the DS photo app would enable me to select photos on the NAS drive and easily replicate them in my iOS Photos library with one click. While there is a feature for this, it sadly strips all the metadata before adding to the photos library, rendering the operation useless because the photos all appear as if they were taken at the time of import. The same behaviour is not apparent in DS file, but the interface is more cumbersome for photo viewing than DS photo - would be great to do it one app.
Great way to manage a large library of photos
I am using Moments for family photos and PhotoStation for work/professional photos. PhotoStation allows me to access a huge library and download from anywhere on any device. You can maintain whatever folder structure you want. It has worked really well for me. It takes a bit of time to get familiar with the photo upload workflow, but very happy so far. Synology - please keep supporting and maintaining this app - it is a great partner to Moments.
Good but buggy
Good for viewing photos on the nas, but there are many annoying bugs I wish they’d fix. There are no scroll bars on the desktop site so you can’t scroll to see all your photos. Videos don’t play properly / reliably on the mobile app, and when they time out, the view resets so your back at the beginning of your collection. The date view loads very slowly. This app feels like it’s been abandoned.
