Deceptive business practice

Cars are always shown as available until you got to book them and then they are not available. What is the point of having a filter to select available cars if they are not actually available to hire.It just deceives anyone interested in signing up into thinking they might be able to hire a car when in fact they can’t. On telephoning I was told to add the covid cleaning period time onto the time that I want the car for so that I can see the cars that are actually available and then search again for only the time that I want the car for and book that. Adding the cleaning period onto the time I want sounds like something a computer should do. After all when I go to actually book it can calculate that it’s not available so why have it calculate correctly on payment but not on search. The danger of losing someone that might sign up I’m guessing.

I never take the time to write reviews because most of the time other people have already wrote what I would write about an app whether negative or positive. But on this occasion I’ve decided to make an exception as I have used this app about 4-5 times already and each time has been dreadful at best and absolutely infuriating at worst. First of all, the app takes ages to load availability of cars, if it actually does load - most often it doesn’t and I have had to literally uninstall and reinstall the app twice to get the availability map to work. Furthermore, availability on the app doesn’t actually match up to availability over the phone. The most recent hire I made was like this - I could only hire the car up to 12pm on the app and when I called the company they extended it to 1pm. After I had an issue with the car, as it wasn’t left charging by the previous user, the company somehow extended the hire to 4pm to allow us time to charge the vehicle. Before the same hire started, I wasted the first 10 minutes of the hire trying unlock the car via the app (surprise, it never did unlock via the app, even after logging out and in again, installing & reinstalling the app and finally restarting my iPhone!). I was forced to call the company to get it unlocked. Dreadful experience - this company would have been amazing if the small details were looked after!

I like enterprise car club, because renting car instantly helped me soo many times. However, I find the reservation process annoying and I think it could be improved. I feel like enterprise lives in a world where everyone does everything on time. For example, if someone rents a car from 12-16 and something happens at 16 o’clock, which will result in a delay of me returning the car by unspecified amount. Sometimes, I cannot extend it, because someone else booked the same car from 16 o’clock. This isn’t fair for me as the person driving the car and it isn't fair for the person who booked the car. I think there is an easy fix. Person renting a car at 16 shouldn’t be able to fully book the car yet, they should probably get a notification saying “due to the small gap time between person returning the car and you booking the car, the car may be late and may be extended by the driver driving the car.” And if the current driver is late and he/she wants to extend his ride, everyone should be able to do that without calling anyone and once the driver returns the car, the other driver should get notifications stating that your car ready to pick up. I like enterprise a great deal, but sometimes this app is just sloppy.

Outstanding customer service experience

Initially the process to become verified was quite tedious; However having gone into the Peckham branch, I was met with an excellent team particularly Pedro Castro - His service was absolutely outstanding and very much courteous. He dealt with my query promptly and effectively and in no time I received an email to state I had been approved. Had it not been for Pedro’s effort and drive to get everything in order and sorted for today- the outcome would not have been the same. I am absolutely pleased and delighted to have received such a high level of customer service. Pedro truly is an asset to Enterprise and deserves to be commended for his hard work and service! It is not often you come across genuine characters who truly just have the heart and passion to make a difference! I am grateful to have encountered such an individual - A memorable experience indeed!
