Enterprise Car Club is the UK’s largest car club operating in more towns & cities than any other. Members can rent cars & vans by the hour or day via a mobile app.
Book & unlock vehicles in advance or at a moments notice, picking vehicles up from convenient street, train station, car park or Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch locations.  
To use the app, you will need to be an Enterprise Car Club member.
App features include:
- Use your current location to find Enterprise Car Club vehicles in your area
- Create, modify, and cancel reservations
- Lock/unlock the vehicle to start and end your trip
- View upcoming and current reservations
- Extend your reservation while on rent
- If you need to submit a fuel receipt, take a photo and email it from within the app

A great service hobbled by lockdown

I loved the car club, there WAS always a well maintained clean eco friendly car available at a price that saves me money vs taxi. About one third cost. Perfect for school run, shopping, local trips. Not competitive for longer trips. Always got the reserved parking spot near home. Last year it cost me around £500 instead of the cost of keeping a car all to myself estimate £1,500. BUT lockdown regulations mean car must be sanitised by professionals between each hire. So they must allow 24 hours between bookings. Hence I now cannot book when I need it 4 out of 5 times I try. Hence I am considering cancelling my £60 per year. I renewed last month cos lockdown was supposed to be over. I can only either memberships decline so much that booking become available again. Or maybe Enterprise should refund a part of the annual fee. I guess they got a chunky government grant to tide them over. They should share it.

Appalling experience.

I never take the time to write reviews because most of the time other people have already wrote what I would write about an app whether negative or positive. But on this occasion I’ve decided to make an exception as I have used this app about 4-5 times already and each time has been dreadful at best and absolutely infuriating at worst. First of all, the app takes ages to load availability of cars, if it actually does load - most often it doesn’t and I have had to literally uninstall and reinstall the app twice to get the availability map to work. Furthermore, availability on the app doesn’t actually match up to availability over the phone. The most recent hire I made was like this - I could only hire the car up to 12pm on the app and when I called the company they extended it to 1pm. After I had an issue with the car, as it wasn’t left charging by the previous user, the company somehow extended the hire to 4pm to allow us time to charge the vehicle. Before the same hire started, I wasted the first 10 minutes of the hire trying unlock the car via the app (surprise, it never did unlock via the app, even after logging out and in again, installing & reinstalling the app and finally restarting my iPhone!). I was forced to call the company to get it unlocked. Dreadful experience - this company would have been amazing if the small details were looked after!

Experience

I like enterprise car club, because renting car instantly helped me soo many times. However, I find the reservation process annoying and I think it could be improved. I feel like enterprise lives in a world where everyone does everything on time. For example, if someone rents a car from 12-16 and something happens at 16 o’clock, which will result in a delay of me returning the car by unspecified amount. Sometimes, I cannot extend it, because someone else booked the same car from 16 o’clock. This isn’t fair for me as the person driving the car and it isn't fair for the person who booked the car. I think there is an easy fix. Person renting a car at 16 shouldn’t be able to fully book the car yet, they should probably get a notification saying “due to the small gap time between person returning the car and you booking the car, the car may be late and may be extended by the driver driving the car.” And if the current driver is late and he/she wants to extend his ride, everyone should be able to do that without calling anyone and once the driver returns the car, the other driver should get notifications stating that your car ready to pick up. I like enterprise a great deal, but sometimes this app is just sloppy.
