The app is brilliant!!! All very easy to understand really, and makes life much easier. Now I must mention something quite unusual, when I did my last booking to pick up at Lisbon airport I chose the premium insurance for peace of mind and did it trough out the app, when I picked up the car I was faced with the this question: would I like to buy at an extra price road assistance in case I lost my keys or my car broke down??? Now you people at Europcar explain please this extra charge... I bought the premium exactly so I don’t have to be faced with this quite imposing silly situations, so premium insurance does not include road assistance or key replacement? Of course I paid the extra bit! But really would love that to explained PLEASE !

Rented several cars from the company & never had any issues until one booking. I had booked a premium vehicle and upon arriving I was handed the keys to a economy car (even though I paid more). I said to the adviser and I was told I would need to pay extra again for a better car so I proceeded to show the adviser the website and the price difference from the car offered to the website. The adviser agreed and brought out the keys to the initial car booking. On the contract it said pre-existing damage to the front wheel and a scuff on the bumper. I signed it and upon checking the car I agreed with the pre-exciting condition. After renting for 27 days I return the car and receive an email ‘new damage notice’ and I’m being charged over £300 for a lock wheel key that I wasn’t aware I would need to check was in the car during my initial signing of the contract or the 24 hours notice… it just wasn’t something that I was made aware to check for. I contacted customer services and raised as the only thing out the car was myself, but like many company’s it’s extremely challenging to get through to an adviser and when you do you get told the same story that they will add it to the file and you will hear back in due course. Check everything!!

I’m a regular Europcar customer and find this app very useful for keeping track of my bookings no matter which country I’m in. I tend to book online or through the Elite team which ensures I always get the best rates. Agree the app could be enhanced and I expect the Director of Digital Marketing will make this a priority (he will now after reading this). Overall I think Europcar are very good and that’s why I’ve been with them for over 20 years. They repay my loyalty with excellent service. It’s a pro quo. My advice is to frequent travellers is to focus on one airline, hotel and car hire company and leverage your loyalty. Happy travelling!
Unable to update personal details again

Over the past weeks this app has updating 3 times, in all instances the app says it has sorted out the process of updating your personal data. It has not. Not sure why it’s locked onto old driving licences and old card details. Mine expired in 2015. Normally you can easily update these but the Europcar app & website, you cannot change you data. Quite a poor update by the online staffAlso the of note I got a different price between my laptop and the phone. If you use your negotiated rate, be aware that this can be more expensive. Quite silly realy. Sometime it just spurts our random rates, I’m my experience it can be £20 more expensive between platforms, or if your a guest or by using your personal account.
