We’ve tried different companies in the past and we always ended up having more problems, Silly things like learning the car we suggested wasn’t actually even close to the car we got, waiting a very long time to been seen! (2 hours to be precise!) the cheap companies are never located in the airport.. This is why I would most definitely recommend Sixt! Always give me the car I require, most the time an even better car!! I never wait too long to been seen and the customer service is next to none! Top company! Always satisfied, thanks Sixt *****

I wanted to set up an account via the app, but accidentally misspelt my last name. I did not finish setting up the account (added my name and email but not more) but no option to go back to correct the mistake or to restart. Despite never having fully set up the account (or confirmed my email address), I now either have to contact customer support to have my name changed (on an account that was never set up fully) or I can delete my non-existent account but that takes five working days (?!?!?!). Also, the only reason why I misspelt my surname is because the app does not allow auto-fill and everything needs to be added manually. Deleting and reinstalling the app won’t do the trick as my name is still allocated - I wonder what other data is held against my will. One of the worst possible user experiences and I haven’t even gotten further than trying to sign up.

I had a number of questions regarding car hire as regards LDW, SLI, the excess payable (if applicable), the deposit taken on the credit card and finally, Excess insurance cover… I sent emails with these questions to a number of car hire companies who had branches close to where I will be staying. SixT were the only ones to reply, not only that, they wrote a comprehensive reply to my questions. They also replied comprehensively to my follow-up questions. Booking experience is therefore good, I shall write further after the car hire experience.Many thanks

This company bangs on about how good its service is. But nothing could be further from the truth. After generally teasing a petrol vehicle because I was going somewhere remote, they refused to give me one when I turned up and sent me on my way with a ridiculous tank of an electric vehicle. I didn’t order a tank, I wanted a nice small car. Not only was the whole trip spent trying to top up the car, there had been no sign posting in advance that it was likely to be an electric vehicle. Had I known that I would’ve never placed my order. I feel misled. They start quoting the terms and conditions at you but it’s just a disgusting experience for a company that pretends to be so customer centric.Add to that, the online check-in process is broken and doesn’t work so I raised a ticket to mention this and they then told me that my booking was in February which of course wasn’t true because it was April. I got another email telling me that actually yes my booking was instead in April. The whole experience was extremely bad and although I’ve used this company for about the last 10 years I won’t be doing so again. Disappointed and frustrating. Avoid.
