ErgZone is an app made for athletes using Concept2 Indoor equipment (RowerErg, BikeErg, and SkiErg) or the RP3 rower.

Why ErgZone?

We have created this app so athletes can focus on their workout instead of spending time manually configuring the monitor, making calculations for heart rate and interval pace.

- No more setting up intervals manually on the PM5 monitor: when connected, just press “connect to PM5” and the app will do it for you. Then, all you have to do is start moving.

Unlock premium features with an ErgZone+ subscription:

• Heart Rate & Power Graph: See all intervals/splits in the same graph containing all HR & Power zones after you finish a session.,
• New Metrics & Remember Preferences: New metrics: Drive Length, Max Power, Average Force, Peak Force, Recovery Ratio, w/kg, FTP%, SPI%, Force Curve (only available for RowErg/SkiErg with PM5 v2 or higher), Projected Time. The app will also automatically remember which metrics you used on the last workout so you don't need to tap the columns multiple times.
• Time Cap & AMRAP: Use the Time Cap feature to automatically stop a workout when the time ends. Use AMRAP for mixed workouts.

• Apple Health Integration: Automatically save your workouts to Apple Health to track your activities. Heart Rate data is also saved when a heart rate monitor is connected to the PM5.
• Web Admin Dashboard: Manage your workouts and training schedule in a computer with the Admin Dashboard. You can also see your live workouts in the browser and display it in a big screen.

Excellent -

This is the app that C2 should have released. Very well done, easy to use and now a super easy way to program the PM 5 (no more aaaaaaaa ccccccccc ddddddd .......) Looking forward to seeing it develop. The many offered trials are great way to check out the third party offerings (I recommend the excellent Rebecca Romero program) and the daily C2 workouts for row, bike and ski are there at the press of a button. Only negatives are occasional hesitation to connect to one of my PM5s and currently no sharing with Apple Health. Otherwise, double thumbs up and highest recommendation. With asensei and now Ergzone there’s lots of good stuff coming for the C2 rower!

Very frustrating!

This is probably the most frustrating app I’ve ever encountered. On the one hand, the detail provided during workouts is first class and has improved vastly even since the app was launched. In particular, it shows your exact pace. For example, if you are going at 1:59.9 pace, it will say so. The PM5 monitor (and C2’s ErgData app) will incorrectly truncate it to say 1:59! There are still slight glitches, however. You don’t have to program the monitor either, workouts are sent direct, once programmed into the app. On the other hand, your workouts are not shown chronologically as they are on ErgData. Rather, they are grouped according to the session you started (and didn’t necessarily finish!). The worst part, however, is that the premium features (of which there are several, of varying usefulness), are very hard to obtain. There are “group” memberships for anywhere from 2 to 250 members and beyond. However, what they don’t make clear (and give misleading information) is that ONLY the first named person of the 2, 10, 50, 250 or whatever gets the premium features, which is inexplicably ridiculous. There isn’t even an individual membership option. I am now using ErgData again. I will check back periodically to see if there have been any improvements. I would award the app 5/10, but because there is a 5 point scale, I’ve rounded up to 3/5.

Awesome App

My favorite app on my phone. I get my garageathlete workouts direct to my phone each week via the app. Also uploads the workouts direct to my concept login. The pacing calculations help me train at the correct pace and I can work on my rower or bike.
