Good but not perfect
I have been using Neos since they came out, first with the v1 hub and now with the v2 hardware and, once setup, the system runs with no problems controlling a 3 zone heating system and a bunch of neo plugs for lighting.
I use recipes so can turn on or off the whole heating and then separately the loft, for example, and I find them useful. Once set I generally don’t change things much, albeit the temperature profiles I do amend between summer and winter as the levels need to be altered. The one issue I do have is that I strongly feel Recipes should also be capoable of being stored at hub level as getting them out to multiple devices is a right pain if they have to be setup from scratch.
I also just had my first hardware failure. The back plate for a V1 thermostat stopped swicthing. I have replaced it with a v2 device (nice lights) and that too was a pain. In linking up the new thermostat the system lost all the others and I had to start the whole process from the beginning, thermostat by thermostat, plug by plug, profile by profile and recipe by recipe. Not fun.
I would reiterate though that day by day for 5 years it has been really good and has just worked. Remote access has been useful too. JUst some setup and main issues that I wuod like to see changed for the better.
Worst app I have
App is impossible to use and freezes after each change you make. This means you have to close the app and re-open it in order to make the next change. We built our own home and with 18 heating zones to manage, I felt this app would help. The builders recommended the heating system and buying the hub was my decision to save me running round the house controlling each zone. What a mistake. It would be quicker to go to each stat individually to make the changes I want to make.
If all you want to do is be able to see what the temperature is in each of your zones then the app works fine but it’s a very expensive way to only be able to observe what’s happening and not change anything.
I have had no support at all in how to use the system and the terminology used is not explained other than in a few online videos which have been made by people who already understand the system and shed no light on how a person seeing it for the first time would use it.
What on earth do recipes have to do with heating systems and what is a profile? There is no help section in the app to explain any of this - you are just left to try to figure it out for yourself. I used a Hive system when on holiday and that seemed way simpler to use. If you are shopping for a system look at others before you chose this one.

You say there is no help menu, but if you click SETTINGS you will see the Help menu at very top. Here you will see many frequently asked questions including how you can make use of the profile/recipe function within the app.
If you do have any technical difficulties with the system not working, please do contact our support team as they are best place to troubleshoot with you as this is not normal behaviour.
Hate the whole thing
Had this system inflicted on me, against my wishes, in a new house. I suppose it’s ok if you’re happy to just set it up and leave it, but when you have houseguests, for example, and need to change things a bit it’s a time consuming nightmare.
The wall controls are impenetrable, even apparently for the installers, who wouldn’t even demonstrate them, just said to use this app. But, for example, to just bring your hot water on earlier than programmed, you have to get your iPad or phone, find the app, hope it’s working, then fiddle around and hope it doesn’t crash. It routinely crashes in the middle. Just froze 5 times when I was just trying to change some timings.
All I wanted was a normal programmer (in which case you’d just go up to the programmer and press advance, or something equally simple) but that seems to no longer be acceptable. How the heck is this sensible? A ridiculously over complicated system. Heatmiser really needs to simplify it, make the wall controls understandable, or at least offer a simplified version as an option. Who on earth uses all the options, recipes etc? And it’s not just me as an older person - my kids can’t fathom it either!
