Providing security with the next level of smart device application, HomeControl2.0 delivers the ultimate peace of mind for any property.

HomeControl2.0 is a brand-new platform that puts users at its very heart, with a newly designed interface that makes controlling and managing the alarm system fast and easy.

Individually arm and disarm areas to secure your property, or to allow access. This can be for the entire property or specific areas should you want to allow a pet to roam freely in a residential setting, or keep a store room or office space armed in a more commercial environment.

Configurable to a distance of 100m to 1000m of the property, the user will receive a push notification reminder via HomeControl2.0 to arm and/or disarm their system as they enter or exit the configured geofence area respectively. When using this functionality, location data can be collected in the background, even when the app is not running, in order to present Geofencing notifications to you.

Logging into the system has never been easier or simpler with biometric login (facial recognition/fingerprint). With HomeControl2.0 there’s no need to enter the user code every time you open the app.

HomeControl2.0 provides the ability to control a number of systems. Whether they’re on a single site or many sites across the globe, wherever you are you can monitor and control them all from one app.

Receive audible voice push notifications directly to your device; letting you know exactly what’s happening so that appropriate action can be taken.

Via HomeControl2.0 up to 10 panel event and up to 50 app notification logs can be viewed; giving the user added visibility of exactly what’s happened on their system.

A fresh look but buggy

Like the look of the new app, it’s well presented and looks much better than the previous 2 apps, however, like all new apps I have experienced a few bugs which is letting the app down.

On occasions after logging in I am faced with the option to arm all areas. This is a slide button only and doesn’t allow me to see / access the 3 zones that I currently have on my alarm system. What is strange is that this is an intermittent bug, if I close the app and login again it then shows me the 3 zones as expected.

Secondly, the notifications section isn’t working properly. When I view the notifications the red circle disappears but when a new notification comes through the red circle returns but the notification count hasn’t reset, it just keeps going up.

On the previous two apps it was possible to delete / clear the notifications but I am unable to do this with the new app.

I have also experienced a number of crashing while reviewing the “history” section. Although he page seems to load fine as soon as I start to scroll down the app crashes and closes down.

While it is great to be able to remotely access / arm the alarm system it would be nice to see some additional functionality added to give owners the ability to manage their alarm a lot easier such as the ability to add users and made changes to the systems settings using the relevant engineer or manager codes.

Hi, thanks for your feedback on the app. We are actively working on updates to the apps which should address your feedback. Thank you for the feature feedback as well, we will pass that on and add it to the list of feature requests.

Notifications not working

The app itself feels like an improvement but as a family we like to receive notifications when the alarm is armed/disarmed. The previous home control app provided this perfectly in the form of a push notification but this app provides only geo notifications when you leave the house. I’ve checked my iPhone setting and they are switched on but nothing comes through.

Hi, this is most likely a PyronixCloud notification setting issue for the new device connected to your system. If you contact your installer or system administrator that has registered your control panel to the PyronixCloud, then they will be able to make this change for you on the devices that are using HomeControl2.0.

Once you have checked this, if the problem persists, please get back in touch with us.

Great improvements in theory

I think this ap is what most people have been waiting for but it does seem to be buggy. Just to reiterate some of the feedback that has already been highlighted by other users, the login process is not smooth at all and sometimes I find myself doubting what has been set. I have multiple areas in my panel but when I click on area B, Area A and Area B tries to arm as though I press the button the fob whereby there is a timer to get out of the house. This never used to happen with the old HomeControl+ app as it was silent until the alarm was set. At the moment I have reverted back to the old app as that was more reliable and i trust it a lot more. Some feature that I would like to see are:

Biometric login
Integration with google/alexa so that areas can be set by voice
Ability to create areas and add sensors using the app

Thank you for your feedback on the app, it is appreciated. We've added biometric login to the sign in process. To make sure you can use it, please ensure your phone has a passcode to access the device and you then should see toggle options to remember the user code and app password and use biometric login if you have a compatible device with FaceID or TouchID. The passcode acts as the failover in the event the biometric login is not recognised.

It would be really useful if you would send us some more detail about the specific issue you mentioned in the first part of your review to marketing@pyronix.com so we can try and help you fix the issue you are experiencing.

Also, thank you for the additional notes around feature upgrades. We'll add these to our list.
