Continually struggle with connection, alarm system connection isn’t as bad as the pyronix battery/doorbell cam access though. Absolute nightmare and will randomly punt the cameras offline or completely off the app altogether to then have to reinstall them.Trying to get through video recordings for playback is clunky and glitchy.. doesn’t feel worth the money I payed for the two cameras at all. Had better app interface stuff that was 1/4 the price

Unusable app, smart plug automations never work, and half our cameras aren’t recording

Tried everything for hours but whatever i do the automations for my smart plugs don’t work. When i switch on/off the individual smart plugs from the app, they work fine. But automations to turn them on/off simply don’t work. I’ve given up now, but for such an expensive system the app needs serious improvement. It’s not a patch on the previous camera system we had, but we wanted new cameras, alarm and smart plugs to be in one system. It works ok manually, but really frustrating that the automations don’t work. Ironically, the app even sends me notifications that the tasks I’ve set up have failed. But no explanation why. To cap it all I’ve discovered tonight that half our 8 cameras aren’t recording. Again no idea why. Really disappointed, and we will have to get the installers back.

As someone who’s handicapped, I have to use Siri a lot to do things like launching apps. In the case of this one, it seems I have to include the ‘2.0’ of the app’s name wheni speak it and which I often forget. As versions 1 & 3 are not available, I wish that the name could be changed to just ‘HomeControl’. The version number is in any case superfluous in the name. I’ve previously written directly to Pyronix about this but never had a reply. PLEASE DO THIS SOON!

Currently the original HomeControl+ is still on mobile devices due to this we cannot change the name of the current release of the app - HomeControl 2.0. However, I have forwarded this across to our App Development Team for future consideration once the original HomeControl+ is no longer available on all devices.

I’ve been using this app for just over a year in conjunction with my alarm company & it is very frustrating, often never works first time wether you’re switching it off or on & as for the notifications, I get none for weeks and then all of them come at once!!!!! I’m pretty sure in this day and age they can do better than this? Please let’s have an update to at least sort out the notifications??
