Great game and hard working staff!!

I’ve been playing WWF for 4 years, I’ve always had fun playing because I love spelling, learning new words etc. Anyway, of recently someone requested to play with me and I accepted their request, then they sent me a message to talk and I don’t usually talk to people on the app but I said let me see what they want and accepted their chat request. From the jump I knew the person was illegitimate but I thought I’d humour them because at least they was playing the game and playing back fast! Cut a long story short, today I said to myself I’m going to block this person because they’re really creepy! As I went onto the app I’d seen the WWF staff had already removed them (for my safety as they said in their message to me) from my players and adjusted my scoring to make sure I don’t lose out due to this person, and I want to thank WWF for doing so. I really appreciate that your staff are working hard to keep genuine people in the WWF community safe. Also I’ve had issues in the past of not getting trophies when supposed to or coins and whenever I reach out WWF make it right so again thank you WWF staff for your hard work!!! I 100% recommend this game regardless of the tiring adverts 😩😩😩💜💜💜

Used to be good, now bugged to pieces

This is so frustrating. This used to be a good app, but some recent changes have introduced some ‘interesting features’ (that’s ‘bugs’ to you and me. The most prevalent ones are:- watching a video for 3 coins. This used to be straightforward - now I get a ‘video still loading’ message pretty much every time. Re-trying just means the message comes back even quicker than the first attempt. Sometimes re-booting will mean you get one shot at it, but if you then try and watch another one - same message all over again - ‘Duels’ - this used to be fun, but nowadays, at least once per session, when I try to advance to the next board, I just get thrown out of the game instead. As it’s a real time race, and there is NO WAY to get back to the game that’s been dumped, it means I have automatically lost. When you only get 1 go per every 2 hours, that is totally unacceptable. I wish I could recommend this - I’ve been playing it for years - but there is really no excuse for these ‘features’. Sorry

What have you done!!

Really, really hate what they’ve just done to this game. The latest update, November 2023, has introduced lots of stupid, unnecessary and annoying changes to the game. For a start, the appearance of the board now looks like a large print child’s book, secondly, the useful option to decide whether you definitely wanted to play a word or cancel has gone, thirdly, when you score a certain amount, say 20 points, a stupid logo flashes up and dances in the middle of the screen to tell you, along with other dumb messages that keep popping up such as the one to helpfully inform you that if you score the most points in the game…guess what, you’ll win !! Another new and particularly irritating feature is that very often the letter tile you are trying to play keeps pinging back to the bottom of the screen each time you try to place it!!The size of the information bars at the top and bottom of the game have now shrunk in size and every time an opponent plays against you the top bar is completely obscured with a pointless notification of that fact so that you can’t see the scores in the game you are actually playing at that time. This used to be a great game that I’d play for hours but it’s just been ruined and has really put me off it.I only hope they undo these stupid things soon but I’m not holding my breath.

For years I’ve played this game and you could almost say I’ve been addicted to it. Absolutely love the game. However, just recently it has been become so clear that you are not playing a real person and just a robot. The giveaways are the generic pics of a pet or a person facing the other way or even no pic at all. I started to look at the stats of these players and they’re unreal. They play very basic low scoring words and yet they’re stats suggest they are some sort of genius. Never respond to you in chat. Now usually this wouldn’t bother me but the real reason for this review is because today was the final straw. I was playing one of these so called “real players” hi I’ve played many times before and beaten with ease. I don’t even have to try. This time was different, 50/60 point words and it seemed odd. Going into the final stages of the game I was around 25 points in front with 3 letters left. All of a sudden, the game is over. I LOST!! Hmm okay, it’s possible I guess so looked at the last word played and it was “goo” which scored them 7 points. Okay so that wood put them on 18 points less than me or if we allow the odd couple of points the person gets for using all tiles another 2 points etc but hold on, they are now 20 points in front of me!! How is this possible? That’s a 45 point swing for what really should have been 7/10 points and I would have won the game! This has become a joke of a game now and many of my female friends have also commented on the amount of guys from the U.S who use this as a dating agency. Such a shame as it was such a great app and didn’t even mind that much about the ads.
