A really useful addition to my training but the movement instructions are lacking some detail
Shadowofmyformer...
I am nearing the end of my free trial and have used the app at least once every day. I love that it recommends movements specific to my weak points and WOD exercises. However there are three issues I am struggling with:1. The instructions for each movement could be improved as it’s sometimes not clear whether you should hold a position for the time shown, or repeat a movement during the specified time. This isn’t helped by the accompanying video which repeats itself - seeing the model move in and out of a movement several times makes me think I should be performing it more than once. 2. All of the videos feature highly mobile models and therefore movement standards that will be impossible for some users to perform. Scaled versions would be useful and safer I think. The mobility test videos show different ranges of movement - can you do the sane for the exercises?3. Finally the videos can be hard to view in portrait mode - could you make them resize when the phone is rotated?
Good app but encountered a few errors

I liked this app but unfortunately I had to cancel my subscription as the main thing I used it for was to save time as it meant I didn’t have to spend time figuring out my own daily plans. All was working well, but about 2 weeks in it kept only recommending the same daily protocol with no changes (this happened for a further two weeks) I would be open to using this again should the bugs be resolved in the future but until that point I won’t be paying as it doesn’t seem worth it if there is no variety in the plan!

Hello! At the end of your daily protocol, there is a big green button with a checkmark on it, be sure to click it as it validates the protocol and tells the app to provide you with the next one! You can mail us at help@gowod.eu if you have any persisting problem! The GOWOD Team
It’s very basic and hyped up by Crossfit

I chose to use the GoWOD app for about 3 months because as an amateur crossfit athlete I decided that I needed to work on my mobility. As GoWOD’s subscription is cheaper than Romwod/pliability I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately I found the app very basic for the functionality it provides and expensively for what it offers. Let’s start with what it actually does. It gives you a timer for each pose to hold until your selected time is up. It gives you a ‘personalised’ routine. It also allows you to do a mobility assessment. What bugs me:- the mobility assessment doesn’t allow for the option of ‘can’t get into the pose’.- the overhead test is for the assessment is modelled for people…uhm…I don’t know who. I don’t know many people squatting without turning out their feet to make room for their midsection. Equally difficult for people with long thighs.- there are some spelling mistakes- it isn’t always clear what the exact pose is trying to achieve and sometimes it’s more of a strength exercise. - post wod programmes always require the gym because of equipment need- it’s far too simple for the price- I feels like the person who programmed this doesn’t understand how stretching works and how different bodies work- the routines don’t flow - some poses are simply inaccessible to someTl dr: expensive overhyped tool that looks shiny because of affiliate athletes and brands.
Great app, but unfortunately led me in the completely wrong direction

I feel restricted in certain movements e.g. unable to sit on my heels (or lower my bum even remotely in that direction). I decided to try GOWOD to improve on this. The mobility test provided me with a 0% score for external hip rotation and very high scores for everything else. I took it for gospel that there was an issue with the hips and paid for the subscription to access the personalised flows. I did them religiously for the recommended 8 mins a day for a couple of months, but saw no improvement in my mobility test scores and was no closer to being able to sit on my heels, so I cancelled. Months later I saw a physio about something unrelated and she commented that I have extremely good hip mobility!! I explained this was something I was working on as I thought it was the root to my mobility issues. She said there’s nothing wrong with my hips, it’s my quads that are extremely tight and restricting the movement. So the hours and ££ spent on hip mobility was all for nothing.
