miRack is a polyphonic Eurorack-style modular environment. It aims to provide user experience and audio quality close to those of the real Eurorack hardware. miRack can be used to build custom synthesizers, audio and MIDI effects, control other apps and equipment, as a playground to explore and learn modular synths, and for live performances.
miRack is also available on macOS, including Audio Unit and VST plugins.
* Comes with more than 800 modules created by third-party developers and adapted for mobile devices by miRack team. New modules are added regularly.
* Includes AUv3 plugin. Can work as an instrument, audio effect or MIDI processor. Supports parameter automation to record and automate changes of almost any virtual module control.
* AUv3 hosting capabilities (in-app purchase). Incorporate any AUv3 instrument, effect or MIDI effect plugins into your patches.
* Controller module (in-app purchase) allows to design AUv3 user interface for your patch.
* Multi-channel audio input and output (in both standalone and AUv3 modes), with full support for Expert Sleepers audio interface modules to integrate with hardware Eurorack equipment.
* MIDI input and output, including MIDI clock sync, and MIDI learn function. Automate and control your patch, or control other software and hardware instruments with powerful sequencer modules.
* Ableton Link support to synchronise with other music software on the same device or over network.
* iCloud support to sync patches between iOS and macOS app versions.
* Visit patchstorage.com/platform/mirack for inspiration and to share your patches.
Just managed to connect it to my daw pc via WiFi with full midi control from devices connected to the pc itself. This is seriously something else and the amount of modules included is going to last anyone a lifetime. Two things: I somehow ended up needing an extra app called midinetwork to connect to the pc, as the app didn’t want to create a session input on its own but once this was set up it works flawlessly. The other one is... two-ways VCV Rack compatibility, but I’m sure this is something the dev is considering or dismissing for some important reason. Cant say much about the synthesis as I’m a modular noob but surely beats extending a display to the iPad and running reaktor with its unoptimised ui.
Immense fun- who would have thought it?

I had bought this at the introductory price when it first dropped- and then was too scared to go near it for almost a year. Finally, several factors combined to get me started- and within 72hrs I was absolutely hooked by it, making a variety of bizarre sequenced noises and then building drum synths (well, I had planned to buy a DrumBrute). The only word of warning for those yet to take the plunge down the rabbit hole is that it will take up increasing amounts of your time- but by thunder it is fun!
Give us a bloody clue.

I bought this based on the reviews only to find that the manual, such as it is, gives no instructions on how to get started. I’m not stupid, I understand how to set up midi controllers and audio inputs and outputs, but how do I use this with a midi controller and is that even possible? I see that there are midi modules but there’s nothing to explain what to connect. My Korg nanoKey Studio shows up as a controller but it’s impossible to connect it to anything. Nothing works and I’m faced with various badly labelled modules and so far guessing what connects where has failed to produce any sound whatsoever. A few simple diagrams showing some basic setups would have been helpful, but I’ve wasted 4 hours on something I can’t get any sound out of. I’m sorry to say that this is not a very user friendly app and I would not recommend this to anyone.
Just keeps blowing my mind

My first review couldnt have been better when I bought this like 6 months ago. Since then this app has improved in almost all respects and I would say its one of the best apps Ive ever bought. This is such a well thought out and well executed app. Get the mac version for free if you doubt what Im saying and you will be convinced Im sure. This is such an amazing accomplishment and Im still a bit surprised it has been done and done real well. The interface is fast and efficient. Its a pleasure to use. And, and this is like having a few thousand $$ worth of eurorack!!What! Sometimes just saying thanks feels so lacking
CONTROLLER
* It is now possible to place additional modules next to Controller module on its row. All modules placed on that row will be present on screen in Controller mode.
* Improved color selection for Controller label background/foreground colors.
* Rack position and zoom is now correctly saved and restored when entering and exiting Controller mode.
APP FEATURES
* Imroved handling of external assets, e.g. samples loaded to sampler modules. We fixed a couple of bugs in this area and made it easier to share patches that use external assets. Please read the updated External Assets section in the app manual for details.
